he's got some pace too. kinda looked liked Jesus (pace but little end product, aside from the ball to Kevin for the almost-3rd) but im certain he will get much better.
i wonder if he'll start on Tuesday...
Agree about the tentative bit, however even in the first half Sterling was cutting back in and keeping possession rather than taking a risk to beat his man, so clearly under instructions though I thought he had a good couple of opportunities to roast shaw late on and missed an opportunity.
Solid enough debut though

I enjoyed the move that didn't work, which I saw him utilise when I watched one of Schalke's games after the rumour came out we were interested in him.
It's where he attacks his defender by passing the ball wide, around the player, and uses his incredible pace and strength to go around the defender on the inside, cutting back in to try and collect his pass. It didn't quite work, but if it did he would have been in.
The weighted pass he made to KDB that we almost scored from was quite good. Very excited about the lad. We have such a deep squad, and still no Gundogan and Jesus.

To think that he's only 21 and in his first proper run in the side. The potential is frightening

I love him. First proper edge of the seat player I've seen since SWP. Whenever he gets the ball on the left, I get a chubby at the thought of him taking on his man. It doesn't always work, but the thought and skill are there. Great signing, I hope he fulfills his potential.

This. He may finally be the guy that makes me get over the departure of SWP.

he is incredible. that jinking run in the box and cannon off the crossbar would have been a goal of the season contender. (on a sad note, remember when aguero used to make runs like that??)

The run reminded me a little bit of the one Giggs made v Arsenal in that semi final in '99, the way he beat his man and rifled an angled, left footed drive at high pace across the goalkeeper, giving him no chance. Shame it cannoned off the crossbar.
However, plenty of fullbacks will have watched it and just thought, "oh shit"

My view as well, I think he's brilliant, and there's a lot more to come.
He's like Sterling with a purpose.
