Let's hope he keeps it up until the end of the season to show he's not just playing in spurts of 'having something to prove'. Because you don't have to look past last season to see what happens when he loses interest.

"The adjudicatory chamber of the Ethics Committee ... has banned Mr Joseph S. Blatter ... for eight years and Mr Michel Platini ... for eight years from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) on a national and international level. The bans come into force immediately." - 21/12/2015

Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

He did nothing going forward but his defensive work against the dippers was immense. I can't recall seeing him work so hard defensively. Great to see.

I thought he was poor yesterday but in the absence of Gumdogan he's clearly needed. Interesting to see whether he can manage another game on Monday. Maybe Garcia will play instead.

He wasn't THAT poor compared to most of the team. He wasn't really good either, but Liverpool were set on causing congestion in the middle of the park.

He also showed higher work rate than some of our fans are willing to admit and made a few last gasp tackles that saved us from being destroyed on the counter (including one where he, surprisingly, had the ball taken away from him).

Yaya was everywhere yesterday. Good all round performance making up for the loss of fernandinho. Lots of work rate from yaya. Good to see.

Great performance from Yaya, especially the second half. Good to have the big man back.

Really curious how are things with him.

After the mass exodus from yesterday, we might see Yaya staying. Imho, the club is negociating with him a new contract. I hope he accepts a pay cut and stays.

Him **and his agent!** each donated 50,000 to the Manchester victims. Small change for them but very nice nonetheless
