What is the problem not taking chances is killing us. What did chelsea have three on target three goals.

The other major problem is that we concede from almost every chance the opposition gets cos we have a shambolic defence and a keeper who can't/won't make saves

Pep even changed the colour of the nets from black to white yesterday but that didn't help.

Genuine question but, does anyone know if we're missing the majority of our chances at home, or in away games, or is it pretty evenly spaced irrespective ??
The reason I'm asking is because, of the nine games we've won so far, six victories have been away from the Etihad and only three have been on our home turf.
Would it also pay us to try and widen the pitch a little further, if possible, as a way of defeating those sides who 'park the bus' ?? Granted, we would be offering more space for our opponents' forwards, but we're conceding goals anyway, so nothing much would change there.

Excellent last point there MC. We play with width which would suit us against a couple of buses as it stretches the back lines. We should widen the field of play to the maximum we can. We have more of the ball than our opponents usually so it would ultimately benefit us

Apart from Anthony Taylors performance topic of conversation in a city center bar I was in that was full of blues after the game yesterday was the fact the current team has a lack of firepower and Aguero apart no goal scorers . This current squad hasn't got enough goals in it was the consensus of opinion .
Not really here
Fuck VAR

We've a few brilliant players that just don't score enough.
This adds up over time. Silva, Sterling, none of our defenders, Navas literally never. It's ugly really.
Tracking back is overrated.

Sterling gets himself into goalscoring positions. For someone who doesn't, silva really should chip in with 10 more a season from the edge of the box.

Saw other day he scored 5 in 9 and now none in 10. Bad form is all.

It's just lack of fire power for me. Only one out and out striker at the club.

Aguero, Tevez, Dzeko, Balotelli. Now there's options. That's the kind of depth we need again.

Edin would be PL leading scorer this season in this team.

Not too sure about that, Ed's conversation rate was questionable at times.
Is it really a lack of firepower or very bad luck or is pep and the squad so tied up in tactics that somehow finishing has fallen down the list of priorities, but that cant really be it either. Some of the opportunities missed have been ridiculous, Jo would have taken them! Not just Saturday it has been happening at home all season, not converting relatively straightforward chances and hence putting teams away has cost us a lot of points and definitely top spot in the league.
Hopefully its part of the pep 'evolution' and will sort it self in time.

On his current form maybe but let's not forget he scored just 4 in his last season with us, he had given up the fight.

I hope Kelechi gets some chances like the ones we have been missing. He will score enough if he does.

It seems as though the players just don't learn from their mistakes. We've been so soft defensively for the past 3 seasons and it just doesn't get any better. There have also been far too many games where we don't take our chances and are made to pay for it. How is this still a problem!? It's been happening for too long now. We've lost too many points where we've played well but ended up shooting ourselves in the foot. It's getting annoying and it must stop.

And he won't hide behind the defender he'll make the run to the near post.
Easier for Navas to find him.
