The ONLY reason why I'd rather have Stones than Otter or Mangler is the fact he's English and there's those stupid rules in place (unless those been ditched?)

Amazingly, Sky are reporting we backed out of the deal due to the high cost and concerns over his recent injury. Would have thought that was a banker "snubbed" headline.

Well our fans will have more new things to become upset about when we spend £50m+ for Stones, if Everton even sells at anything under £60m.

Give someone 'a chance'? Yep lets write off another season and play some more Ade Mikes and Stephen Jordans. Great.

We didn't take the "risk" of playing kids this or last season, that went swell.

Give some of us on here a 'chance'. I'm only 55 but I used to be Ok in midfield!

So what we are saying is because our team of mostly high level players didn't perform too well in the world best league, well they came 4th, then we should try a load of kids most of whom will end ip playing for the likes of Celtic or Barnsley and who were outclassed by Chelsea in the Youth Cup?

Idealism can only go so far until it hits hard reality. It would be nice, but......................................

For some reason John believes that when people are calling for our kids to be given a chance that we're saying they should be going straight into the first XI, I don't think he understands the concept of using these players as squad players and giving them their chance to shine if and when the opportunities arise.

You are aware we spent all that money on an Academy, right? And that the chairman is on record talking about our long term vision to bulk out the first team with squad players from it... No one is expecting a team of eleven mini Messi's to suddenly appear overnight.

How short would you have to be to be a mini-Messi?

The guy's 3 feet tall in heels.
