Purposely stayed out of the thread during the match.
Interesting to read the comments in the middle pages compared to the analysis at the end. I know we all get worked up during the game but, I think some of you are more influenced by the commentators you're giving out fuck about, than you let on.
Those watching on the Irish Channel TV3,
seemed to have a much more positive look on things during the game.

We got fair praise from Neil Lennon Kevin Kilbane and of course the Dunnie Monster.

I thought, to a man that was a fabulous performance. It was probably the best TEAM performance I've seen from us this year. It was nervy because of what was at stake, but everyone had a job to do, knew what it was, and nobody shirked the workload.
When things weren't going well, it didn't waiver us. Everyone stuck to the plan and we were well worth the win.
The two Ferns were immense and anyone who cannot see the value of the two of them working to that standard in our 5 man midfield, whether it's KDB or Yaya inthe hole in front of them, well I'm watching a different game to you. FACT.

Great night. Pellers got it right, but everyone did their job.
If we could get that workrate until the end of the season.

So proud of the team.

I was convinced that The Brown would bag us a goal and I thought Mangala was absolutely sensational.

Was anyone else more nervous at 1-0 than 0-0? At 1-0 it was ours to lose and that always worries me.

Bring on any of the rest.

Said to my young lad KDB would score about ten minutes before he did.

Yes I was more nervous at 1-0 too. Just back and a couple of observations. I thought Bo Mangles was outstanding. I thought Yaya (greatest footballer...ever) played an irresponsible cameo. Fucking great win and great atmos with everyone staying til the emd

Well said. Often It really can be depressing if you follow the content on here but I guess it's the nerves, worry etc. Hard to fault any of the players tonight even though Silva and even Kevin till the goal were not at their best. Too many misplaced passes for the quality those two have.

But as a team performance that was superb. All first half we were slagged off as not attacking enough bla bla but we got to half time in a massive European game against one of the better teams ( we were told that before the tie) and hardly gave them anything. We let them have the ball quite a lot but they got nowhere against a well organised team and just had a free kick from 30 yards to talk about. And yet we got vitually no praise. Had that been a Slur Alex team he would have been praised for a great professional performance.

It was the same in the 2nd half and we had many contenders for the MotM which is the way it should be. Mangala superb and almost the only time we saw Ibra was when he dropped very deep or went offside. The 2 Ferns yet again magnificent and good old Navas doing a great team job as he does so often and showing why Pellers likes and trusts him.

When we play top teams Yaya should not be in our best team selection. Kevin is our key playmaker and any team we develop should be built around him.

A ridiculous post match comment and I must admit I am a little surprised they didn't hurt us as much as I was expecting.

Just home from the match. Wonderful result. I was a nervous wreck for the first half hour or so, they seemed so slick in possesion. Silva was a little off his wonderful best tonight, maybe his ankle is still bothering him. But the team played like... well... a team.

Special shouts for KDB and Mangala and the two Ferns were solid. Joe was England's number one and Navas worked his socks off.

My only moan (apart from the dreadful referee) was the atmosphere. I was sat in my usual seat at the back of the Colin Bell stand and all I could hear for the vast majority of the team was the PSG supporters on the other side of the ground.

I may be getting old and grumpy but I remember the atmosphere in the Kippax in the 60s and 70s. The noise was electrifying. A long sustained C....I....T...Y... lasting about 10 to 15 seconds. It certainly silenced any noise from the opposition supporters.

I don't know how we can get our voices louder. Maybe we need some new chants. The loudest one tonight was Kevin - DE- Bruyn-a!!
