The way he let Rashford go past him the other day, wouldn't surprise me if he had money on the boy to score.

I can only think that he has a serious gambling problem. Why would you otherwise take such a big risk?
Gambling seems to be quite a common problem for top athletes.

The Argentine, 35, is accused of committing 12 breaches relating to football matches between 22 January and 28 January 2016.
He has until 17:00 BST on 5 April to respond to the charge.
Demichelis has played 18 times in the Premier League this season, including the recent defeat by Manchester United.
is it supposed to be implied in the brief write up that he bet on City matches? he could've bet on other clubs' matches...
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

It sounds like he's not doing the betting but could've passes info to somebody who could've/did bet on the outcome.

If we go with this, there are reports that people outside UK bet a lot on City”s victory. And that goal was ... just wow.
As anyone said above, another fucked up moment in the WTF Season we are having.

There's one really suspicious moment caught in KB's photo history of matches from a while back (maybe two weeks, maybe more, I can't recall the time scale) where he's playing alongside the Otter - and he lets his man get by him after feigning pursuit only for the Otter to cover massive amounts of ground to get a last-ditch tackle in - I highlighted it as evidence his legs had gone at the time but this shines new light on it.

True, in the BBC section "related to this story" the first link is the derby game!

BBC now say there is no suggestion that the charge relates to any of the 25 league and cup games in which he has featured for City this season.

its just like a courtroom where the lawyers can say anything they want until they get called on it and the objection is upheld. Nobody objects, they just carry on

Ban the fucker. Not as if he would have played well anyway. Might save a few quid on wages if he can be sacked for gross misconduct.

Rumours are it is concerning bets placed on games back in South America, nothing to do with the Prem or City.

If that was the case then it would have to be International competition involving Argentina or an "inside information" thing with club football as he is allowed to bet on competitions he is not part of but is subject to rules on insider information from his "position in football."
