Really seemed like the ref was making his own rules up as he went along.

We had the same kind of thing against the dippers. It's basically a 'two advantages' rule against us now. I think the only time it won't get called back is if the opposition score. An absolute joke (as was today's referee).

The ref seemed 100% clueless as far as i could see. So many bad decisions for both teams. Yellow cards not given , 2 probable penalties not given and all in all he might as well not have been there and the nonsense advantage stuff was bizzare

Is there a new directive to referees on this that we haven't been informed of? This is the second game in a row where different rules than are normally the case have been applied.

The new directive is aimed at stopping City from winning the league. By any means possible. It isn't applied across the board as you would expect if it was an official directive. Just makes victory all the sweeter

I'm glad somebody brought this up.
That advantage he gave then retracted which led to their goal was absolutely hilarious.
I literally couldn't believe my eyes, it's like he was annoyed it didn't work out for them so brought the play back to have another go.
Unbelievable really

I wouldn't want to question Roger Easts integrity. He's wholly incompetent every time I see him

As mentioned in the match thread, his whole game seemed to be given to him through his ear piece. Some of the decisions were not only head scratching but looked plain corrupt. Sergio was fouled on numerous occasions with little help from the ref, but then everytime we went nbear their player, who would inevitably fall on his Arse, there would be a freekick, and a yellow for us.
He pulled the game back for what I wouldn't even class as a foul, they both run in to each other, yet when Yaya gets dragged back over a 30 yard run, not even the thought of a freekick. Fuck, he didn't even call for advantage.
Too many of these decisions for my liking, makes me think there's a little more to it than just incompetence.

The referee was abysmal yesterday. Was it not Anthony Taylor, rumoured rag?

At first I thought it was Taylor he looks a bit like him from a distance, but no it was Roger East.
I don't mind if they start to play an advantage rule, but there has to be some consistency. He pulled play back twice for them but as said above Yaya was ignored.
He made many incorrect decisions throughout the match. I thought it looked like general incompetence but maybe there was an element of bias/corruption?
Did anyone notice the linesman that screwed us over at Spurs, "Beck", gave a very soft penalty to the dippers today, to let them beat Swansea?

That was probably one of the worst refereeing performances I have seen all season we should have had a pen and they should have had one but they should have been down to 10 men.East clearly saw Davis handball as the tv replays clearly shows him looking straight at the incident he bottled it as he knew he would have to send Davis off.The advantages he played for them were bizarre but his lack of advantage to us in similar situations begs the question of integrity imo.

When you say 'Advantage' do you mean only for the other side?
