Angus or Willy

I think pellers must be very seriously considering promoting Angus Gunn to 1st reserve keeper. IMO after seeing a lot of Gunn, I am surprised he has not been given some kind of 1st team action. Joe is no.1, but from what I have seen of Gunn, he will go on to replace him. Very good young keeper with all the attributes you need.

Now after calamity Caballero 's shaky performances, it must be time to give Gunn a chance to showcase his undoubted talents on the main stage.

I'd honestly throw Wright in instead of Willy.

Willy is just rusty, needs some gametime but we cant afford to give it to him. He is a fine second choice for this season, Gunns not ready to be thrown in there.

I think long term though a HG second choice is essential starting next season.

No game time. defenders settling in, mess waiting to happen, all of that and if Alex scores it is 2-0 and Willy could have taken a burrito out there and read a paper. We bring pressure onto ourself, that game was done if the 2nd goes in. His mare summed us up. We have another game to sort it and we could be back top SATURDAY..

We know you are right of course, but the City fan in me fears for Wednesday. I'm not confident at all. I think it has the potential to fuck up another year in the Chumps League.
I think we have to stick with Willy for now, but I would like to see Angus in next season. If that means getting him a lone now, then do it.

Willy is shit.

OK when the ball is flying at him but the more difficult aspects of goalkeeping he hasnt got a scooby which makes him no good yo.

Personally I would prefer to see Angus in there before Willy. Not that Angus is properly ready yet as I agree with others that a year out on loan at a decent tough standard is what he needs for experience but I just don't have confidence in Willy.

As a keeper you have to play and the guy doesn't, not surprised one bit by how rusty he looks. He made a great save in the run up to that goal and I thought maybe he would go on to have a good game, but alas it wasn't to be. Lets be clear though, he was not alone in being poor.

As for Gunn I agree that he needs to go out and play some big boys football but we throw him in with the first team as no doubt if he played now and made a mistake he would be getting the "he's shit treatment" like so many others get.

How do you go about playing whilst being the reserve?

Nowadays they expect them to keep sharp by training but I don't feel that replicates actual match play. This is where you need a reserve team where you can at least get some game time.

Pellegrini has his favorites (Willy, Navas, and Marty) that blind him to obvious footballing decisions. theres no way Willy should be eating up a foreign player slot
