Yes. And I think he's more likely to become a City coach than to get shipped out. Guys a fucking pro. You want him around. Perfect mentor for Denayer imho.

Cheers

He's got a year on his contract and if we sign Otamendi I doubt any team in the league will have a 4th choice as good as ours.

Denayer needs to go out on loan though, wonder if NYCFC need a centrehalf.

After watching a bit of MLS, I'd rather send him to Glasgow... Rangers that is!

Woodward really has stuffed up. Used by Ramos snubbed by Otamendi and Pedro. Now he'll be running round desperate for a striker with prices rocketing accordingly. Charlie Austin maybe?!

NYCFC would not be beneficial. Glasgow rangers! Might as well send him to the faroe islands.
He needs to go to a good club, where he can get good game time/experience.

I'm sure demi signed a new contract towards the end of last season, so not sure if he is getting shipped out, he's pellers man after all.

Yeah, it was a 1 year contract extension through this season I believe.

A loan to someone decent that could help take points off top sides could be interesting. palace maybe? Newcastle? Swans? Everton if they jettison stones look to have the kid from river plate so unlikely there. Just dunno who needs a solid yet unproven CB. Villa?
Honestly I'd send him to any prem team who would take him. Stoke maybe would be awesome now that I'm done thinking out loud.

Cheers

Youtube!!!!

He will have to change his style a bit in the PL or he'll be getting more yellows than Fernandinho and Zaba combined. Players here are much better at shielding the ball and less prone to go on one on ones. See lex Garrido.

I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' I'd also like to see Denayer go to a Prem club so he can get acclimated to the league assuming we sign Otamendi.

Those clubs you listed, Doomie, are a good shout especially since they all look to play attacking football, so it would be somewhat similar to ours. Only thing is I wouldn't want to see him on a team that is expected to be below mid-table, so Villa or Newcastle might be a risk.

I don't think Everton are going to sell Stones this window at least. On Swansea though would he get into the team? They signed Fernandez and Williams is their captain. Not even sure he'd be the 3rd centre half, as they have Amat and Bartley, so there is competition. Rather ironic if he went there because Van Djik was linked to them over the summer apparently, so maybe it could make some sense.

Stoke I am thinking might be the best option in England. Their fans started a thread today on their forum saying they and a few other European clubs are "sniffing around" Denayer.

Could we not loan Denayer out to Valencia instead of Mangala?

I'd rather him play in the Premier League of course.

Mangala isn't going anywhere. That's was just a silly rumour of a few days ago.

Cheers. I knew that, was just saying if they wanted someone instead and it would help move the deal along, and give Denayer a chance to play at a higher level than the Scottish Prem maybe it was an idea to consider.

Yet, it did sound like prior to his performance against Chelsea that Mangala was perhaps being considered as possibly heading out on loan.

One if either two things!

1. We are signing Flash Gordon. Beefy there will be a lot of seats to put out as he brings a massive entourage.

2. We really have run out if cash. Blown it all in the South Stand and Brian Blessed has bought City.
I haven't a fecking clue what I'm doing! Gillie come back man I want my sig back. As the Photobucket thingy gone?

tbh quite underwhelmed with this one. sure having the cash to choose between a 32m and a 33m defender to partner your captain is a luxury but i feel it couldve been money spent elsewhere. just my 2¢

would you rather he signed for the rags? miserable dortmund bastard

we're making a huge statement here and I love it. Going into the season everyone was questioning our defence, now we have almost too many great CBs. Definately a statement of intent for the chumps league.

Nicholas, welcome to City!!

He's outright baiting now with his posts on Otamendi, KDB and Denayer. Prolly gets off on the attention. Sad cunt.

This signing give us depth, and competition that has not been there in central defence. Demi was intended to be a backup to Mangala last season, yet we relied upon him heavily. Otamendi is in his prime and a top class defender who could push Mangala, or Kompany out of the team to prove themselves if needs be. Kompany has also not had the best injury record so this gives us better cover.

Surely this signing came into light in part due to the issue with money owed from the Negredo deal so sure, we could use a world class central midfielder but I would gather that is next summer's main target. He was available and defence was a known weakness for us last season. Where else could we have spent anyway? Also seems we are still going after De Bruyne to replace Navas on the right, and putting he and Nasri on the bench, which also gives us tremendous depth we want to compete across all competitions.

This also prevents him from going to our rivals who are almost all in need of better central defenders.

This exactly ... one, it stops someone else picking him up (Scum or Chelsea or Arsenal, he'd certainly improve them all, had they gotten him) ... and second, now if we have Komps or Mangala injured or suspended or out of form, we have someone who will step in and we won't worry about a makeshift defence ... this is probably also keeping in mind Champions League and wanting a full throttle at that front this season, with mid week games and weekend games especially in Nov and Dec, we'll see how this works compared to how other top clubs do during that period.
