Finishing 4th?

Postby Beefymcfc » Wed Aug 05, 2015 6:20 am

The BBC have asked their pundits to predict the outcome of this years PL. The average result looks like this:

Chelsea
Arsenal
Rags
City

Had to rub my eyes as the best team over the last 5 years but we are now predicted to come fourth, with the Rags, who I don't think have strengthened, coming above us?

You don't think Schneidersteiger is an improvement of their midfield?
I think they are idiots to get rid of di Maria, but he wasn't contributing last seasons, so in that respect they haven't got weaker. RvP was over the hill, so real loss there either ... I think the scum look dangerous this season (it pains me to say). I still think we will end up above them, mind.

Weren't we predicted 4th last season? At one point we were going to end up 5th. Only shocked that red scouse aren't there and us pushed out, as we've not strengthened and taken on an 'english star' who will never play & will be another Rodwell and the most overrated young player to ever feature for England, who spends every night out clubbing.

Can't see them finishing above us, but I wouldn't be shocked either. Arsenal is the weird one, they've not really done much and suddenly they're world beaters. They've not challenged in yrs.

Honestly right now Id predict

Chelsea
Us
Scum
Arse
Pool
Spurs
Tracking back is overrated.

We have issues in the back 4, that are not being dealt with. This is probably why they see us as 4th.

They might look fancy going forward but that defence is as weak as shit and Bastian will be fucked by Christmas.

Arsenal have improved a tiny fraction and still have no chance.

injuries and form will dictate our season
if kun plays 30 league games and yaya and vk rediscover form/consistency we'll be right up there
if they don't we're fucked and i'll be pleased with 4th.

Is anybody filled with confidence about yaya and kompany reaching their heights of seasons past? I am not holding my breath.
Also zabba poor last season, mangala still has it to do, MDM getting old.

I think Yaya will have a god season. Not sure abut Vincent. We are vulnerable to set pieces, and good though Denayer is, he is a comparative short house for a centre half.
I don't think the filth have made enough changes to really compete as it stands.

Brilliant !!

Trouble is, I personally believe that the best we can now hope for is to finish fourth.

Aguero will have a injuries at various points in the season, I'm not yet convinced about Bony so we'll more than likely struggle for goals and, moreover, Pellegrini will misguidedly keep playing Kompany who will probably have an even worse season than last........and then there's Mangala and Kolarov.......Uuugghhh.

I just hope I'm ridiculously wrong.

If they lose the donut thief then I'd say they are definitely weaker. Do Maria is a class player and I'm glad he's gone and with falcao gone we'll have to see if he becomes the player he once was, just a little pissed he went to the chavs.

And although I like the pig fucker there is a huge element of risk, confirmed by PGs recent comments. The rest are on trial and the only exception I'll put to my original statement would be the money they bring in on the 2 deals and how they further strengthen. At present I'd put them on par with the Dippers, fighting for the Wenger Trophy.

However, 4th for us is just not taking anything binto account and just playing up to the old Sky 4 bullshit. I prefer to see what the bookies say, at least they have an element of objectivity.

4th? They normally predict us to finish 19th!!!

I think Chelsea will retain, whether Costa is fit or not. I think they've the best squad and the best squad depth.
I think Arsenal signing a goalkeeper removes some of the calamity but they've yet to sign anyone else.
We'll be second or third comfortably, we'll score goals, be exciting to watch leaving Pep the ability to come and take us to our third title next year.
The rags will bag fourth comfortably with Liverpool and Spuds trying to sabotage themselves to finish below Southampton for the Europa League.

Denayer is not been talked about. In my opinion he will be massive for us this season as will Nacho Man. We will win the Premiership this season with a record goals haul...Mark my words and I've never wanted to win it so much !!!

I've just realised that there is another consideration here. Looking at the fixture list it seems to indicate the Rags have been given top billing on the broadcast channels, opening the season and in prime positions heading into it. It maybecand old cliché but maybe the PL & PGMOL have something up their sleeve.
