Delph only made 97 league appearances for Villa in 6 years. It wasn't all down to injuries but he is certainly very injury prone. Yes, Sami could play centrally but maybe not in the formation MP plays?

I'm not sure we have enough with Fernando. IF most of the time City are going to play 3 of Yaya, Delph, Fern1, Fern2 that's not enough.

Take today for a small example, the midfield looked ok to me until Delph got hurt and was replaced by Navas. Next time Real went down the pitch...goal.

Yaya simply doesn't defend all the time or quickly enough, there has to be 2 midfielders behind/around him. And attacking midfielders don't count.

I don't like us having two central midfielders when we play the better sides. We surrender midfield too often. It would be fine if we could retain possession well like Real did, but we don't. I said earlier today that the game reminded me of the Community Shield game v Arsenal.

Well at this point its 2 weeks before the season so theres no point in rushing to try and integrate into the squad before the season begins
