Brennan finally catches up on story. Says Delph move definitely back on unless he changes his mind again

Would prefer wilshere to be honest. Twat of the highest order but he has that special something that delph most definitely doesn't have.

Wilshire would be 4x the price... Delph makes sense because he will likely be a rotation option, pleased this is back on.

Don't know one way or the other whether it is a good signing or not, but assuming this is back on and he does sign, I'll be very interested to hear his first interview. I'd love to hear his rationalising of the events surrounding his on off on off on with City.

Aye, still think the same but have to say I kinda want it to happen now just for the comedic value.

If this is true it would be a bizarre turnaround given all of the articles praising him for staying with Villa over the past few days.

All seem very weird to me.

Villa fans are going to go nuts if this is true….especially after that confessional that Delph gave saying that he was staying.

Only for those who placed their feet in their mouth.

You do wonder what the change of heart is all about though. Just wages or also more promised starts?

MEN reporting it is "confirmed" back on. Wow.

Delph is at least resilient and not a complete cunthole. And he's probably 85% of the player Smoko Jacko is at 20% of the transfer fee. Value for money. Poundshop Wilshire all day for me. He's a good dude i think and he probably realizes how shite they'll be this season and listened to people talk about him being a giant pussy and then had to hear Lambert talk about "bigger things" being in store for him and realizing that, yet again, Lambert is full of absolute shit and then processed this all and looked again at the Ferns and said "i can give this a fucking go."

Hats off to him if that's true.

cheers

His missus is about to give birth. He went to see her last week after waking up and having his epiphany and told a very hormonal 9 month pregnant wife that the kids will go to school in Birmingham. I think you know what happened next!!!!

Fernando is gonna get a lot of splinters this season the shitbag.

As for Delph he's turned out not to be a shitbag after all.

Could be Benteke's departure going by the timing.

100% because they sold bentenke. It's not like Delph came up through their academy, yes he is the captain, but Villa probably made assurances that they'd be pushing on and improving ... Delph isn't a no mark midfielder, he doesn't deserve to be on a relegation side, and he has no stake in going down with the ship.

It's one of those situations where the employee shows his loyalty to the company, and then finds out that the company couldnt give 2 fucks about him when it comes to making business decisions. Disillusioned.

For £8 million you can't really go wrong with signing Delph who is surely worth more in today's market. He's a very good signing due to the cost, and we could use that with the fees we have had to pay. Sure, Wilshere is better, but we'd have to pay up big to land him.

Makes sense. After I posting that the thought did come to mind, but was Benteke not going anyway? Maybe it wasn't as certain as it seems now.

Did a quick scan of the thread since this story resurfaced and didn't see any mention of the fact that Sherwood declared the Villa takeover as dead a few days ago. Could also be a factor.
