Haha. Kompany's wife claims someone is coming in next week.

Exactly. Maybe he's worried that signing De Bruyne would mean that he is heading for the exit

Funny how scousers are now saying Benteke is Drogba 2.0 and that the fee is "what you have to pay to get quality players". The most similar group of people I can think of is Fox News watchers in America. Declaring that you're right and sticking to the group mentality takes precident over actually being right and sticking to a consistent point of view. Delusional, revisionist cunts.

If they do sign him, it's basically a flat out trade Sterling for Benteke. I can't think of a clearer declaration by a club that your uppermost ambition is for a Europa League spot than this. The epitome of a mid-table club.

i don't have any problem with anything he's said or anything Micah said wrt Delph. I don't want us to be one of those club's who put a player on lockdown and make them fearful of honesty. Doesn't mean i'll always agree with things players say or do, but I think to compete at your best you have to be the best version of you...and that isn't one that's constantly in fear of opening your mouth and being who you are.

Most footballers would be advised by agents and family to shut the fuck up early and often, but we really don't sign morons. Through all the grief we've gotten around signings you'd have to say we have a really genuinely good group of players who are intelligent, mature, family-oriented fuclers who don't see trouble or find it by accident. The only exception has been Balo and he was just child-like and loved the drama. It was a whole lot of nothing.

We're awesome.

BBC reporting Delph has had a change of heart and is having a medical before signing. Maybe he thought if Benteke is off its not worth staying?

EDS striker Jordy Hiwula has joined Huddersfield Town after agreeing a permanent deal with the Terriers.

The 20-year-old striker spent time on loan with Yeovil Town and Walsall last season, scoring nine goals in 20 games for the Saddlers and appearing in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final against Bristol City.

A popular figure at the Club, the forward has penned a three-year deal with Huddersfield and everybody at Manchester City wishes Jordy the very best for the future.

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Town! Good for him and good for them.

Related, i love a club called town. It just feels so fucking right to support some ickle club with Town in the name. If i was English i'd have been so contrarian i'd have supported some little shithole club and i'd hate the Prem. I'd have been Champo all the way and been irritated if my club went up, as well as if they went down. FACT.

As towns go it's quite large. I live in one of it's postcode (zip code) districts near the border with South Yorkshire and I'm around 14 miles away from the town centre (a lot of it is fields and woodland though). I think they wanted to get an upgrade to City status a while back, but the local paper ran an unofficial poll which showed we didn't want it so they didn't bother in the end.
As for the football team they are the first team in England to have win three back to back tier one league titles. And they hate Leeds. What more could you ask for?

And Huddersfield have great history before the Scousers even knew what it meant, winning the league three years in a row in the 20's, the first two under the great Herbert Chapman.

I live that way too. Holmfirth is about 8 miles from Hudds. Town have a huge catchment area but sadly the place is clogged up with filth, Scouse and Leeds fans. They should be able to fill that stadium and support a Prem club. If only the locals would all get behind them.

Unrelated, do you miss the filming of LOTSW? Really pretty little village according to the filming.

It's a lovely place. I am a fiercely proud Mancunian but couldn't imagine living in the suburbs of a city again. I love village life.
As for Lotsw, about as funny as anal warts. And strangely, besides the shots in the town centre I never recognise any of the locations.
I should go and watch Town but I rarely get chance, nor feel the inclination to. But I hope they do well and Hiwula is a success. They do at least play in Sky Blue and White.
