Yes, spot on.

"Pep Guardiola will quit as Bayern Munich manager and take over at Manchester City, according to an extraordinary report.

The report emanates via Qatari-owned sports media giant Bein Sports, who claim that the former Barcelona manager has agreed to join City in time for the 2015-16 season.

A tweet on their company's Arabic language account quoted by the Manchester Evening News reportedly read: "Urgent - sources beIN SPORTS: Manchester City reached a tentative agreement with Bayern Munich coach Guardiola to train the team for next season."

Former Sky football anchor Richard Keys, who now works extensively in the Middle East, claimed that the story is "true"."

RMC say City definitely interested but nowhere near agreed. I think that's right. If he wants a move we'll get him but does he? May have to wait, may never get him. Be great if it's true though.

It is interesting though. If i remember correctly, at the end of Pep's reign at Barca theyd declined and one could argue Bayern have regressed under Pep (compared to the treble winning side of Jupp)

Looks like the bookies think that Klopp is going to Bayern and Pep coming here. If this is true I wonder whether Pep dumped Bayern or if Bayern approached Klopp first.

If it turned out to be true I imagine it would be mutual. Bayern fans are apparently no lovers of Klopp though.

Guillem Balage says reports that Pep Guardiola will leave Bayern Munich for Manchester City in the summer are ‘rubbish’.

The sports channel beIN Sports tweeted on Saturday afternoon that the Bayern boss had reached a verbal agreement to take over at the Etihad.

But, speaking on Sky Sports, Spanish football expert Balague said there is absolutely no truth in the claim.

“I have asked both clubs and the entourage of the manager and two of the three have come out with the same word: rubbish,” said Balague.

“It is nonsense, nothing in it - no agreement, no talks, nothing in it at all.”

Exactly. He could be like a pied piper. The elite players would have a bona fide reason instead of money to come to us. Suddenly a Pogba or a Reus or other such like are serious contenders. Bale even or Suarez if Barca decide to cash in. We are already fifth in terms of brand value, this would only serve to increase this which in this day and age is no bad thing

That's the key for me. There is absolutely no guarantee Pep will win stuff with City, but there is no other manager who guarantees that. With Pep, no player on the planet is out of our reach.

If he leaves because it hasn't worked out, the next manager gets a team full of quality players, maybe a few superstars, & some advanced youngsters, who are all great at passing a football.

If he turns up at rags or Arsenal, they get it instead even if he fails.

Exactly. Win win scenario, even if we lose.

There aren't many guaranteed ways in football to make your club hugely bigger in one swoop, but signing a superstar does that. That includes a superstar manager. He'd be the most high profile person we've ever had in the history of our club. Bigger than Yaya, Aguero, Silva or Vinnie. By far. The older generation don't come into it cos the game wasn't the global business it was now.

Pep's signing immediately takes our club up a notch...if it happens.

True.

You would have thought it might have been worth a shot before they were already 3 goals up though.

He's up there with Tancredi Palmeri as one of the worts bullshit merchants currently stealing a living from the game.

Just a couple of other points in response to other posts in the thread.

Keyes hasn't said 'it's true' - I've been watching it for seven hours today, and he said nothing of the sort. A further issue is that BeIN sports have changed their story in the last hour, from 'a verbal agreement' to 'advanced talks'

I think BeIN have realised they've been had over as per my first post in this thread, and are now backtracking, as of course advanced talks may not come to anything and can easily be explained by talks falling through, whereas with a verbal agreement, they would look like right cunts if it didn't come off.

I still rate the story as bullshit, although I do expect we have spoken to him, that would be no surprise at all.

Keys has apparently described the source as impeccable, so he's backing it however it's worded.

No chance we will know the truth of this til the end of the season anyway. But it should wake up a few of the players if they would fancy playing for him next season.

Not on screen he hasn't. They have simply said sources close to the station, same line all day

In all honesty, given the issues he has at Bayern, and the issues we've had this half of the season, the bigger surprise would be to find that we haven't been in talks with him.
