They should keep ticket prices the same and try maximising revenue at the bars by actually making it possible to buy a fucking beer during the half time interval.

I never expected to post again but anyway, 50 years of regular home attendance, some away , vienna in 1970 , 40 years having a season ticket and now I finally get in the main stand good seat good view and my seat increase is £405 !!!!!!!! It hurts like hell to say this is not the peoples club anymore and it is going to eventually spiral round the ground certainly on the second tier and then the rest. Never thought I would have to think about carrying on in my lifetime, this is one FAN very peed off!!!!!!!!!!
YOU DON'T PICK CITY , CITY PICKS YOU AND WHEN IT HAS!! NO MATTER HOW BAD IT GETS NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU SAY THATS IT NO MORE NO SEASON TICKET IF YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN BY THE BLUE MIST THE ONLY TIME YOU STOP BEING BLUE IS WHEN YOU DIE!!
IF YOU ARE LUCKY IN YOUR ERA OF BEING BLUE YOU WILL SEE SUCESS IF NOT HEARTBREAK EITHER WAY YOU WILL BE BLUE. ITS JUST THE WAY IT IS!!!!

I seen that today allowed people who were relocated this season due to works being allowed to have first pick of the new stand steats and any other seats available. Now, I don't for one minute think these people should not be getting a chance in advance to pick a decent seat as the club have removed their seating but why are others who are being forced to move not being allowed to pick their seats at the same time, I think it said the people in level 2 whos seats are to become premium bit being allowed to pick their new seats on the same day, I think I read they can locate from Saturday.
Also, a number of years ago, we had the North stand become the family stand and fans that had sat there since stadium opening and in the old platt lane together been broken up. These fans were never given a priority window to pick where they moved were given the scraps of what there was available with no full new stand to pick from the chances of getting seats together were either top of third tier or none. I contacted customer services to ask would they be allowing these supporters a chance to have a priority to relocation window like others who have been forced from their seats and was told in short no it happened years ago get over it and join the que when the main relocation period opens. I always felt really bitter about being forced from seats where really enjoyed the atmosphere and sat with friends and now when they have a chance to provide a priority relocation be it 5 years later to be told no just join the que has me fairly pissed off all over again.

I opened my letter last night with a sense of doom. But looking at it this morning I have to say that fuck me, there is a hell of a lot of choice of very reasonably priced season tickets.
I know the Premium seating thingy will have hurt some, but we really can't complain about prices in general.

Mate, if you think this isn't the start of working its way down to the reasonably priced seats in the near future you're mistaken. It's going to happen to everyone over the next few years.

Why add an extra £100-£200 on for a row up in some places? It's all madness!

David Mooney on ESPN

The additional costs here and there aren't the result of the introduction of Financial Fair Play Regulations.

Oh no, of course not. No way. Absolutely not.

They aren't though are they? At the end of the day its as simple an issue of a business that is selling a product, and they feel that product is underpriced in the marketplace.

However, lets say they make an extra 3m out of the hike in ST prices. In a single day they have alienated or pushed so many to the limit of affordability that I expect the struggle to sell tickets for cup games will probably result in 3m being lost in additional empty seats for champs league and domestic cup games next year.

It's a fucking stupid and short sighted strategy at a time when packaging up all cup games upto xmas in the season ticket, where we traditionally have issue with attendance, is the simplest way to make more money AND solve the problem of empty seats in cup games. At least then the extra you have to pay is for a tangible benefit.

Gotta be honest and say there is a good range of decent prices from as low as 299 sniffs. A bargain. Join the cup schemes and a cap of £25 on ticket prices for the domestic cups. The club are still offering affordable prices for many. And when you see the premium prices, they compare favourably with other top clubs. The difficult part is that lots of fans have enjoyed low prices for great seats since we moved to East Manchester. And nobody is actually being evicted from their seats. ( although I accept I wouldn't pay those prices) My season ticket is still reasonable although I would like to pay less, and the cup scheme offers fair prices.maybe I would feel differently if I was on those seats affected

£1750 for me, as I am away and my lad is 18 and off to university, not sure of my plans, the 12 years of taking him now seem to have flown by. Still away and as they have fucked me completely off this season, I will sit on it, I know two close to me who have said they gave spewed it as £3,500 is never gonna happen, with getting moved for CL they are not that premium are they!

My lad went off to uni last year and I told him it wouldn't be renewed as once he gets there he won't have time to travel back every weekend, what with all the drinking, lying in bed and 'Can't be arsed going home' attitude. Never went to uni myself but the vision in my mind of a uni student was spot on ;-)

On the price scales, I just wonder if we're to become a club that loses its soul, pricing people out and turning us into the likes of Arsenal. I see some of it already with the boos, whining about every pass and the general atmosphere.

I very much doubt that's the route the club will go. At least I hope not.

On the perspective of the supporters, I would say that the boos, whining etc are largely down to fans seeing players performing below their individual and collective standards, and has been evident ever since Thaksin was around and we started to bring better quality players in.

Having shit players playing shit in the past was hardly unexpected, but having exceptional players playing shit, is something I think its perfectly acceptable to voice an opinion about.

We still have a very cheap season ticket on the whole and fans who jack it in rather than move to the cheaper seats are cutting their noses off to spite their face. I expect it's highly likely to backfire on city anyway, as the only season tickets available to newcomers are likely to be the most expensive ones, in which case they may struggle to sell the extra capacity and find that the 10000 waiting list dwindles very quickly.

I can't talk for anybody else but whether we're under par or not, I still give it some. Watching and cheering while we're at it is all well and good but I don't even hear the usual 'Come on City' when we get a corner, even though I hate it.

Hopefully I'll be moving back next season and be able to see it first hand, but for sure, I won't be sat there like the limp dicks that we're hear nothing from today (away fans exempt).

Im in level 2 in the North Stand/Family Stand and love our current seats, but fear the time will come soon when Im banished up to the third tier due to costs.

Champions League football is no more for me next season anyway due to costs/standard and next thing will be domestic Cup games which wont be hard to sacrifice given Citys approach to them this season.

Yes, £200 increase in my ST will be funded by dropping the CL games, which are a beerless ordeal anyway.

Good luck on your travels, be careful on those spirals down to the 1st tier!
