Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Remember two years ago when some of us splashed out nearly £400 to have a circular plaque engraved and placed at the ground.
About a year later we were told that the plans had changed and they were now going to be placed at the foot of the new bridge over to the CFA.
We had a collection on this site to buy one of these plaques in memory of Bingo.
As yet nothing seems to have been done by the club apart from collecting our cash and sending a couple of emails out. I am currently in the possess of trying to get somebody at the club to tell me what is going on but am not having much luck.
Has anybody heard what the club are planning to do and when?
I will continue to hound the club about this but any help or information you can offer would be great.

I contacted the club before xmas on social media about this KK.
Apparently they are going to put a display of the plaques at the bottom of the new bridge but i do get the feeling it has totally gone off the boil which is a joke. Maybe they didn't sell enough to do a ring around the ground then obviously expanded we have collected money to get one for a dear friend and the way the club is dealing with it is a bit poor form.
The guys over on Blue Moon have had a similar thread.

That was ages ago, I thought the whole thing was up...quite incredulous that it's not done.

Was going to purchase one of these for my father-in-law who died a couple of years ago. Emailed the club about the wording and number of characters etc, as when we tried anything it didnt seem to fit no matter how we reduced it.
Got very vague and dismissive answers at the time so decided not to bother with it as I wasn't happy with the way we were being treated or dealt with. Must say now Im glad we didn't bother at all. If people have coughed up £400 apiece and zilch has been done, it a) is way out of order, and b) sadly doesn't surprise me.
Perhaps one for that Cityzen guy to investigate - why not tweet him, as hes always quick to post on Twitter bout how amazing the Cityzen bollocks is. Lets see what he can do with a genuine query.

I have asked Stuart Brennan from the Manchester Evening News for his help with this, will let you know what he says.
In the meantime, from what I am being told it looks like this scheme might not be going ahead! The plaques were being organised by a private company on behalf of the club so if it doesn't go ahead I am hoping the club will assist in getting a refund.
This is not official but if it turns out to be true then we will need to decide what to do with the money collected for Danny.

I'm hanging fire with my vitriol for now but this is sounding more and more shambolic from the club.

I hope it's still going ahead as the initial idea was for a lasting memorial to Bingo that people could visit and pay respects.
Cheers KK for bringing this up again like i said i did hear from them before xmas but the response was a bit vague.

I presumed they were up. I remember getting an email about them going on a bridge so amused after the academy they would be on it like a car bonnet. Am a bit fucked off now as I bought the chap who's fault it is for my love affair with City one for his fiftieth birthday. I paid extra for a replica I think. Pissed that they are not up already.
I haven't a fecking clue what I'm doing! Gillie come back man I want my sig back. As the Photobucket thingy gone?

I thought a design was being drawn up and placed here it's a logical and imho the best option.

This is what they said in the email they sent out a year ago. However I checked before the last home game and it definitely hasn't been done for some reason.

Regardless of who was building it the club should step in and do it this has the potential to be a beautiful installation.

Surely if it was going there, then it would have to be done close season ?
The bridge has not been up long, & is now being used constantly.

I assumed it was going to be done when the bridge was installed, that would've made sense to me.
That's why I waited until it was in place before I started to chase it up with the club.
It all seems like a bit of a balls up.

Oh I'm not saying there isn't a balls up.
Just that if it is to be on the bridge, I doubt they would close it so soon after just opening it. Would make sense to do it after the season.
Likewise, anything around the ground would be in peril with two large stands being built.

given how much is happening at the club, i'm not surprised that they'd fucking something up. It's just sad that it's a commemorative thing for fans which happens to fall into this category.
Bingo is not a fucking happy camper. You wouldn't like him when he's mad.
cheers
