Simple, if Jimmy goes we need to buy some english fella to fill the squad. If you would have this opportunity, who would you buy and why?
I will start.
Dwight Gayle.
He looks like a play who can become a star growing around Dave and Samir.

Jordan Henderson is probably one of the few English players with the discipline to be able to play in our system.
I think Berahino is going to be a very good player.
Derby's goalie. Can't remember his name.
Any of several from Southampton. They've got to a few good young lads there.
We could always bring Micah Richards back.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

The problem when signing a young English player is that they get built up by the media that much that you don't actually know their true potential until it's too late. The kids mentioned in this thread could turn out to be another Wallcott. Or that Zaha that was supposed to be the next big thing and hasn't had a sniff at the rags.
We've offered Micah a contract but he won't sign. So there's no chance of him staying here beyond this season. Sinclair will go. Milner possibly. It's going to be touch.

Does anyone know how he is doing out there? Has he stayed fit?

I'd prefer to bring one through from the academy than spend a load of money on one.

the Fiorentina coach recently said he hasn't played Micah more because he arrived at Fiorentina out of shape and then the club switched to 3-5-2 and Micah doesn't fit that

Raheem Sterling. If he's out of reach, I think I'd go for Jamie Ward-Prowse. Half decent player but blimey, he can take a corner. He'd guarantee 10 goals per season from his corners alone. Sorry to sound like Fergie.

Think we should only go for absolute high class (and debatable how many of those there are; really none but potentially Barkley and Sterling). Otherwise we are just getting a benchwarmer and we've had enough of these. Would much prefer to give a couple of the younger kids a chance than sign a mediocre player just coz he's english.

None.
We've got to start trusting in the Academy.

Without the benefit of seeing the academy players first-hand, I'm only going by what I read from Doug and Ted mainly, and a few others.
But I would agree with you Mikhail. It looks like we have some real quality, coming through, I think he'll have to blood a few for next year.

Does Welsh count for this?
If so Ched evans....i mean Bale or Ramsey, both would add to our squad and wouldnt just be used for their nationality...
If not Clyne to replace Sagna not a bad shout....
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i dont quite get it with Barkley, sure he looks talented but he fits in and out of games and for the money they are asking its a no from me. 20m max i would pay for him.

He has a massive amount still to do, people saying he is a automatic replacement for yaya is way off the mark and far too premature.

Dwight Gayle wouldn't even get in our EDS team IMHO.
The only English players I'd be interested in are Ross Barkley, Fabian Delph and Raheem Sterling.
