OLDHAM AGREE EVANS MOVE
Ched Evans and Oldham Athletic have agreed personal terms over a potential move to Bounday Park, according to Sky sources.
And if a deal can be agreed, then the striker could even be in the Latics' first-team squad for their league match against Doncaster Rovers at home on Saturday.

I see it as a triumph over the pathetic system that saw a man charged with a rape that the alleged victim can't even remember.

I dont want to pass judgement on the actual case, because as I understand it that was the problem - unconsciousness - and something about 4 or 5 others!
But I'm pretty sure a lot of the do-gooders who are crying out about this are always the first in the queue to say offenders should be given a second chance etc. Personally I cant understand why this crime cannot be forgiven and a person never resume their trade after the sentence is served, yet every other one can.
Am I wrong?

Still rape: still a criminal. Still, I'm sure the Oldham fans will show due sensitivity when they chant his name

That part was never in question or being debated, the issue was the employment or restriction of, post release. It remains to be seen what happens next, but I would imagine this is just the start of a massive mud slinging match and sponsor withdrawal. However, I think Mike Ashley has probably told Oldham they are OK, after all, negative publicity and Sports Direct go hand in hand. They are never far from controversy and negativity, yet they have gone from strength to strength and are now in the FTSE 100.

I sincerely hope something like that doesn't happen to a female family member of yours. But if it does I am sure they will be comforted no end by your stance of "What's the problem? You were too intoxicated to even remember it".
Remind me if I ever get the urge to rape to get you on my jury. I'll make sure to batter the girl senseless beforehand so she can't remember the rape.

He should just wait a few months for his appeal to go ahead and everyone is pretty sure he will get it turned around.
I think we all know what happened, she was shit faced, he took advantage, she got scared, then saw the possibility of some fame and fortune and had his cock juice all over her, she was probably badly advised.
He just did what the majority of young 20's lads would do, fuck a fit drunk bird.
I just think there should be no rush and he should wait until he's had the chance to clear his name.

If all your mates went over a cliff, etc.

I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

It was the hotel receptionist that called the police, she was concerned the girl being escorted to the hotel room was too drunk.

She woke up in the hotel room at 11.30 AM. The night porter did not call the police. Also if that was a call of a night porter, I would have had the police at my door many times and my missus would be pretty embarrassed!

Ched Evans didn't take her to that room, drunk or otherwise. The guy who did was cleared of charges.

I didn't say he did, I was just clarifying it was the Hotel receptionist that phoned the Police and started the Police involvement.

It wasnt though? It was the girl herself after she woke up and didnt know where she was and that she had wet the bed, she decided that although she could not remember anything, she should call the police as she had recollections of a pizza box and a kebab shop.

She actually reported that she had had her drink spiked, and had lost her bag and phone.
Apparently she never alleged rape.

Can we bring in Hitler into this now? I think it's time.
