Hope Mangala is going to have to earn his place. I think Demi is actually a better organiser than Vinny (still think the game at Hull last year was so critical for us).
Mangala might be faster and younger but no guarantee that will make our defence any better given the progress that Demi and the defence have made

I think Demi performed better than Kompany against Liverpool just gone. I was shaking my head at some of Vinnie's defending.

Me too, i was very relieved to see Fernando clean up so well in midfield, to make the defending for the back four so much easier.

hasn't sulked since the arrival of Mangala. has looked really solid for the most part.
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

The Defense wasn't troubled by Everton today. More of a mid field broiler. Demich is still a good reliable sub. I reckon it will be Mange and Komps on Weds.

Martin has delivered two clean sheets in Vinnie's absence and played a lot of decent out balls today. I think I would prefer him alongside Vinnie for Roma at this point.

Just at the moment, I think I'd regard DeMichelis as our first choice centre-back, even in preference to Kompany.
He just seems to be a little steadier than the skipper is at present.
Veering off at a different tack - and I don't want to be regarded as a candidate for the lunatic asylum - but if both players settled into the team and began to show a little bit of consistent form, I wonder how a combination of Mangala and Boyota would work out.
Strange things happen in life and it might even be tolerably effective.
However, I'm just musing and not advocating it.

Martin and Vincent for me (and Clichy ahead of Kolarov).

He's got experience, he's got talent, and he can pass like a midfielder, what's not to like about him?

Remarkable how he has gone from looking like a serious liability to dependable rock. I was a serious critic of his but exudes calmness in the main.

I just wish he was four or five years younger, as he'd then be the mid-term mainstay of our back line. It's just a pity that he's now in the autumn of his playing career.
I think he's still a fine, fine player having adapted well to the Premier League and, also, full credit to Pellegrini for bringing him in and persevering with him.
