I dont agree mate.

I think Platini is right on the edge - this allegation of secret meeting with Sarcozy and yer man from Qatar. Platini subsequently voting for Qatar and by sheer coincidence a year later they plough billions into PSG/France and Twatini's son gets a job. That is serious stuff

Also I think FFP is right on the edge. They know that it is in massive contravention of competition law, restraint of trade for players and huge bias in favour of the old guard etc. I detected a huge sense of relief (am I wrong?) when City and PSG agreed to settle for these (negotiated) sanctions - even though PSG are probably just kicking the can down the street either to a big lawsuit or to the inevitable collapse of 'Fair' play.

John, my point is that Platini may well be moved on very quickly and the power vacuum created at UEFA will immediately be filled by the likes of Rumennigge or Gill. That'd be bad enough. However, if FIFA lose Blatter that leaves a space at the top of the world game into which one of these bent bastards at UEFA can step (claiming they're going to clean up the game, of course) and that is a serious nightmare. (Worst case scenarios, admittedly.)

Platini was coming through prefectly (for him) until that meeting became public. He had 'done all he could' to help the cartel over ffp, & was positioned nicely to be their man at the top of FIFA, but at the same time had avoided the possible destruction of his plan by a legal challenge from us or PSG, which would probably have highlighted his cartel connections. The Dupont challenge will be more 'gentlemanly' & less of a personal threat even if Dupont wins.

Now the details of his meeting with the Bribemaker General are in the open & he has the FBI on his case, all bets are off.

I'd start by looking at his son's bank account - what better way could there be for Platini to receive third party bungs from Qatar? (in theory, obviously).

Blatter ... for eight years and Mr Michel Platini ... for eight years from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) on a national and international level.
