We will need to employ a personal physio for him, unlike Sagna, who is pretty solid and injury free.

i hope we stay clear of sagna.
zabba needs back up. however, there are far more cheaper options than a 31 year old wanting 100k to 150k a week. we shouldn't be paying them kind of wages for someone to play back up, especially since zabba doesn't even earn that.
Still here.

I just spoke to an arsenal fan about Sagna. "Not as good as Zabaleta" was his reply.

Dont believe for a minute Sagna will be on 150k a month. Those days are long gone. Even Zabba wouldnt get that kind of cash in a new deal. The policy under the new leadership is incentive based salary. Low base and high bonuses for winning shit.
Havent we learned by now that reporters have a default article lying in wait for every linked City player where they just double the average wage for that position at a top club and hit the publish button?
Re other availables... if Fabregas is available and willing to play in PL for someone else than Arsenal I'd be VERY dissapointed if we did not manage to land him... super player for our system IMO.

Richards wants to leave so the club have moved on. Let's face it Micah's had a shocking injury record over the last two seasons. Also the club clearly wanted someone who could fill in across the back four and Sagna fits the bill nicely. Mail online running that the scum have failed to interrupt our bid and things should move very quickly. I wouldn't pay any attention to the 150000 figure but 100,000 seems likely plus bonuses.

Still too much. His only reason at his age to come to us is a pay day. It doesn't make sense to pay a back up who is worse than our main man more money for mostly sitting on the bench.
Zab on 70k sagna should not be paid more than this.

Salary paid to FREE agents is always higher than those PAID FOR up front ... overall they still cost less to the club ... but still don't believe any figures press throws out at you ...

Lets try to get shaw and barkley and a solid cb and I will be more than happy to kick the season off. richards, lecsott, barry off the wage bill so that frees up some funds for these 3 players

sagna's basic will be in the 70-90k range
like the other new signings this will be topped up with incentive compensation
oh and he'll pick up a whacking great signing on bonus
add all of those together and divide by the length of his contract and you might get close to £150k/wk
arsenal fans make me laugh
sagna is a mercenary and the system is a joke
but...
it was ok when they were smashing salary records when they signed sol campbell

Sagna was only getting a short term deal, 1 year poss 18 months for me, Micah 26 has got to get games, Trippier would have been a decent understood, he has had a great time at Burnley. Raw and feisty a Young Zabba.

Yes he has a bad run of injuries, but
IF he can be fit he is still a better option than a 31 year old looking for a end of career pay day.
I wouldn't be too hasty to just write him off. To be fair we should give Richards more time. Important part of the title winning side two seasons ago.
Football fans forget very quickly.

I dont forget and have allowed room for sentimentality (2 yrs). How long before you say he has had long enough? Plus when fit, he isnt the greatest.

He will be in the same pay scale as other similar players & it's typical Tarquin spin that he's on 100k plus, because why else would he leave them right ? Has to be for money.
Can we stop with the Micah Richards bollox too btw; if he goes he will be LEAVING not being forced out.

I'd take Sagna and Cole and move on Richards and Clichy. That'd raise a few bob and give us experienced cover whilst we wait for a couple of young lads to come through the academy.

There have been plenty of reports that the Club wanted Richards to stay but he knows Zaba's number 1 and he wants out. To be fair his injury record has been shocking over the last 2 years. Still he's home grown and the Club were prepared to keep him. In my opinion Sagna will be a better more reliable player who can pretty much play across the back four if needs be. Looking forward to an early announcement as Khaldoun's promise of quick and efficient transfer dealings rolls forward. Fernando next? He now has a Portuguese passport and Brasil have snubbed him for the World Cup. He should be nice and fresh for pre season.

Yes that may well be correct and if he wants to go, well let him go.
But Sagna. cant see him bringing a lot to the table.

I think it's a great short-term cover. With Richards always injured there's no way we would've won any trophy if Zabaleta was injured.
Simple fact, simple answer.

this is what it boils down to, we all love Micah but when called upon he has just not been fit enough or good enough to fill in for zabba. If he wants to leave, let him go. Sagna will do the job of filling in at the back line fine.
