Fuck them - play only kids and keep our main squad for domestic games, devalue the competition. TV companies will be crying when we don't play any of the big names, have to hit them where it hurts!

Sell tickets to fans dirt cheep but refuse to sell any CL related merchandise (or make it very difficult to buy)

Throwing the game by not turning up would prob mean we get banned from the comp - shame as it would be the best insult to the bent fuckers

This is actually a good idea, they deserve that, but if we do that, they will ban us from Europe and that means players will lose their interest in coming here or fighting for the title.

I think this might be the biggest ban in the history of this sport. How the fuck can you ban someone for bringing money in the system? Making the game more interesting and such?

Nowt in the rules determining who we pick in the squad so they wouldnt have a hope in hell - use it as a base to give the kids (as young as we can do) chance to see life on the big stage.

I'd even have PV as coach and give pellers and crew a night off.

'Arry played the kids all the time in Europe and they never banned Spurs.

I don't see how this can possibly be true.

Where is this supposed info coming from ? They are saying the Etihad deal has been flagged.

The Etihad deal is not a 'related party' deal & is not overpriced.

Equipe are claiming that UEFA have valued PSGs deal as half of 165 million, so how could that be true & then our £35 mil be too much ?

Can't see how this is true at all.

We've told them to fuck off and further discussions are being held. I hope we stand firm and go to Court if necessary against ANY attempt to undermine our competitiveness in the CL.

Not a cat in hells chance we accept that.

Uefa's best chance to avoid a lengthy court case and dirty laundry all over a European court for the next 3 years is to lower that.

Id reckon 23 man squad and stick the wage limit to the same as everyone else - fuck the fine as the money doesn't matter a bit. ill bet a settlement is reached though tbh Id personally rather we had the fuckers in court as with our resources, I like our chances.

I don't think we should accept any of it, nor their attempts at taking it to their chosen court.

If this is true, it is disgraceful, how can we have the same punishment as PSG.

They are getting €200m a year from QTA for what, they dont sponsor the stadium or the shirt, and it was backdated a year to make it even more corrupt.

I believe we were willing to take some slap on the wrist and some form of punishment, maybe a smaller fine but this is too much and could spell big trouble for us.

There is no fair reason for that judgement IF it is true.

I'm still not having it.

agreed. this is fucking monumental in terms of our history. If we play along with any of this charade then we're mugs, and i don't believe we are...so.

How could ANYONE look at what we've done and say that we're creating a problem for European football? it's insanity and their intentions are so obvious and transparent that i cannot believe it's within any court's sensibility to allow this to happen. It would be the biggest travesty in any league in the history of sports to say that you cannot invest and manage a club, debt-free, and built to win, and grow an economic model, and a community which is going to be one of the best in world football.

That Platini and co. would be out of step with that vision tells the tale of who they are, where their motivations lie, and how corrupt football actually is at its core.

I'll believe it when i see it, but...right now i think it's something to unsettle our players in the last run in to see if they can get some players heads around something else other than 2 wins.

cheers

And how does a £50m fine help us meet financial fair play? Presumably that figure has to go into the accounts? Seems about as sensible as fining a burglar or a company director whose business has gone bust. Fining City just because we can afford to pay is immoral as is the whole concept of FFP in the way it is being applied. Time to make a stand

It seems a nonsense to fine a club more than they earn for participation, although perhaps that's the point?

The only sensible step with a fine that large, would be to distribute that money to the next placed club they felt missed out because of our 'financial doping' that particular year, otherwise what's the fucking point.

I can't see the fine of that size washing with any club owner, and at a cost of perhaps a couple of million to fight it, I expect FFP would soon be in tatters if this story was true about the size of the fine

The stated objective of FFP is supposed to be that it helps clubs not to get into financial difficulty & any fines are supposed to reflect that. How can fining a club £50 million help with that ?

The other thing to consider, is that IF what the media are saying is true, then the Etihad deal has been flagged. (I cannot believe this at all personally but am not convinced any of this is true anyhow). IF that is the case though, then they have not just wiped off millions from our income this time, they are committing themselves to wiping it off for years to come, & the deal is structured to rise. So we are being docked money EVERY season from now on, not just this period.

We cannot accept that, especially as there is no legal reason for them to do it; they are changing law to suit their own purposes.

I've read the Bluemoon thread on this, & some of the legal types on there are suggesting that there was an original draft of ffp, based on actual law which City adhered to, then the goalposts have been moved since, to suit the likes of Arsenal etc complaining, & we have no intention of accepting that. We are playing by the rules as stated when it was first brought into being.

Interesting idea.
