I was at the other end of the ground, but nobody in my stand either thought he dived, or indeed that he was fouled. People were applauding the tackle, basically.

Have a look later at Carvalho's challenge on Franco (our forward) towards the end. The term 'rugby tackle' would do it justice.

Cheating see you next Tues, basically.

Ho hum. Least we're not bottom for Chrimbo...

Do I think Mancini is the man for the job?......... No I don't. I actually think the man for the job was Sven Goran Eriksson but that's a seperate argument. I was fully commited to Mark Hughes & his team & having met them & spoke to them on a number of occasions while stood next to the Infamous Doug (Roy) at training I felt we were well on the way to getting some success (which I believe we still are looking at our league position & given the fact we're in our first major cuo semi final since 1981).

This is another sad weekend in our history.

I do however have a question........ If Mr Mancini doesn't get us into the top four or wins a trophy by the end of the season, will he be shown the door too?

Personnally, I think we're another season away from finishing in the top 4 anyway & I thought that at the start of the season. Now we've got to start all over again.

You CANNOT get instant success nomatter how hard you try.

Yet again we are a laughing stock of the football world.

CHELSEA , REAL MADRID , BARCELONA AND PROBABLY A SHED LOAD MORE HIGH PROFILE CLUBS HAVE SACKED MANAGER AFTER MANAGER FOR NOT GETTING THE TEAM TO WHERE THE OWNERS WANTED...........AND THOSE TEAMS ARE STILL SUCCESFUL IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER.

THE WAY OUR DEFENSE WAS PLAYING WE WERE THE LAUGHING STOCK ALREADY AND THERE WAS NO SIGN OF THAT IMPROVING......IF YOU CANT SEE THAT THEN GET TO SPEC SAVORS !!!!

WE ARE A DIFFERENT CITY NOW MATE...THATS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU BECOME THE RICHEST CLUB IN THE WORLD OVERNIGHT.....THINGS CHANGE AND SO DOES THE TARGETS THAT WERE ORGINALLY SET OUT BEFORE THE SEASON BEGAN.

A BUDGET IS REVISED EACH QUARTER....WE SET OUT TO GET INTO THE TOP 6 BY THE SEASONS END BUT SEEING HOW THE PREMIERSHIPS ELITE WERE DROPPING POINTS LEFT RIGHT AND CENTRE WE CHANGED OUR BUDGET ACCORDINGLY.

THATS LIFE AND IT HAPPENS IN EVERY COMPANY.

Herein lies our problem in a nutshell!!

We are not "CHELSEA , REAL MADRID , BARCELONA AND PROBABLY A SHED LOAD MORE HIGH PROFILE CLUBS", we are a mid table Premiership side that have spent the last 20 odd years yo yoing throught the various divisions, instead of challenging for titles and playing in the European Cup.

Whilst I do not intend to leave myself open for not being ambitious, putting us down or even daring to dream .... I do realise that when you start a journey it is not just important to know where you are going but ...... just as important to realise where you are setting off or starting from!

We don't need someone to continue a dynasty ...... we need someone to fookin start one first!

During that process, mistakes will be made and experiences gained .... that's what the process is allabout and why when you eventually get to the top ...... you are then more likely to stay there.

I feel we have smashed that process wide open now ...... and gone back to square one.
Relax ... It's only a message board in hyperspace!!

And where were Chelsea at the start of the decade?

How did they become a power?

Billionaire investor who sacked a decent manager who didnt match the new owners ambitions. They havent looked back since.

If the debate has been done to death why do you not also point out that they were in fact 4th and miles behind the then big 3 and add to that that we have even more resources and a bigger starting fan base?

Those 2 achievements alone tell you a lot about the character of the man, given that Fiorentina were in administration at the time and he took the job on when nobody else would do it - he got some criticism for doing so because he hadn't even finished his coaching badges yet - and Lazio were fresh from selling many of their players after hitting the rocks too.

And do you realise that was Fiorentina's only trophy in 5 years and they havent won one since?

Fiorentina was his first managerial job and they were financially buggered so despite winning the Coppa Italia he was not given the resources to build a squad capable of challenging and so joined an already sinking ship?

Just another fact for you...
