It's late and I might be missing the obvious, but does anyone other business, any other goods or service provider ever do something like this?
problem is the agreement is to buy not 19, but
19 plus n (home cup tie) tickets, and the upfront payment, while it relates to the 19 guaranteed league fixtures, is only a part payment for the whole agreement. The penalty for failing to pay is a suspension of the "service"
I did think of one, and I have nothing to do with them now either. I assume your cable/pay TV providers do the same as ours, when I wanted to buy the sports channels(that's literally all I wanted) they make you buy the basic package and then charge you on top of that for the sports package, so it turns out cheaper to get a bundle which includes kids channels, documentaries(okay, not too upset about that) and lifestyle channels. All in you end up spending so much you may as well pay the extra $5/month to get the next level up which includes another 100 or so channels, none of which you actually want.
I asked if there was a service where they give you like 10(20, 30, 50) channels and you just pick and choose the ones you want, apparently that would cause the less popular channels to go broke, so they don't do it. That's right, your paid television could be a lot cheaper if you weren't subsidising the channels you don't want in the first place.
Needless to say, I don't feel even a little bad about using joans every chance I get.
