My dad even made the effort to take me to see bell, lee and Summerbee . When I look back now that couldn't have been easy with the cost of things even then.
I have been to Maine road and the etihad and have always been made very welcome in the pubs and at the ground by all city fans .

I even managed to take my wife to the F A cup final last year ,her first city game. Although we lost she thought the day was fantastic ! It was all down to the city fans . Her words not mine . She thought the green man pub was brilliant .everyone very friendly and chatty , same in the stadium .

Perhaps we get away with it cos we have a really heavy Suffolk accent which in no way can be classed as London or down south.

My twopenneth for what it's worth .

I don't think it's down to accents pal.

I'm going to have a real stab in the dark here at what the issue is, and whilst its a stab in the dark, it's based on years of watching city and seeing incidents like these flare up from time to time.

OP shouts his mouth off criticising player 'dozy idiot' etc, doesn't even have to be offensive. It happens a few times through the game until a regular, tired of hearing a non-regular do nothing but criticise the team/player/manager has enough and tells him to shut the fuck up.

It generally has nothing at all to do with accent, but the behaviour of the person. Particularly if the person is vocal with opinions that are not normally heard in that section, regulars will hone in on it immediately. Not saying its right to have a go at another blue, and I cringe when I see it, as its generally an over-reaction from the guy who kicks off, but by the same token, it's fucking annoying when some cunt parachutes in, and is just constantly critical or spouting utter bollocks throughout a game.

Like I say, this is only a generic 'stab in the dark' - but given the reaction I'd almost wager money on this having happened - otherwise the guy is a fucking psychopath......and would have been locked up a long time ago for attacking strangers at random with no provocation.

OP, whilst I feel sorry for your experience, the fact you went back for more makes you sound a prick.

And some scream at a piece of glass in the corner of a room, whilst other family members consider calling the Police to have this loon removed. I am not saying you do that, anyone can support City how they wish, I was moved on Tuesday to further along the east stand and it was interesting to say the very least, shouts of nail em snap the argie bastard,Siva you useless twat when the volley was saved. I sat that there at times pissing myself laughing, no thought to engage the loons, I suggest Mase pops along weighs up the two bullies and evens up things and reports back. Sunday after Stoke.

I recon the geezer below had been trying to cop with that woman for years & getting nowhere because he can't engage her in conversation, his heart misses a beat when he thinks about sitting close to her & he looks forward to it all week, gets there early & everything, just so he can watch her walk down the aisle; dreams of seeing her in a wedding dress doing the same.

Then some southern fuck turns up & uses his cockernee charm on her, to engage in so called 'banter' & she's lapping it up, the whore, & to top it all, City are losing to a bunch of the fuckers. Well it was more than he could take.

He's probably been found in his garage with the exhaust pipe running through the car window, poor fellow; missed the FA Cup game.

Anyone know this pond life?

Dear Sirs,

I am writing to complain about the experience I had during the Chelsea home league match on February 3rd. I filled in a complaints form on the night and returned to one of the senior stewards but feel it is appropriate to follow up by e-mail and understand what the club is doing to address my concerns.

I purchased my ticket via Viagogo - details below

Transaction ID: 3921507 -Colin Bell stand 222, Row G, Seat 610

I sat down pre match and enjoyed some good banter with the lady next to me who was obviously a season ticket holder at the ground with her teenage son. I learned that my seat was usually used by an out of town season ticket holder. We chatted during the match and enjoyed a friendly dialogue.

Half way through the second half the individual sat two rows in front of me directly ahead (I assume Row E same seat number) jumped up and started to hurl a torrent of four letter words and abuse at me telling me repeatedly to shut up. I was aghast at this and was at a loss to understand the reasons for his behaviour. I repeatedly asked him what had caused his outburst and he refused to engage other than to continue his verbal assault which had become heated and aggressive. Fellow fans and a steward intervened to get him to sit down. I leaned forward to him to suggest we as "fellow blues" shouldn't be arguing and offered my hand of friendship which he refused. I went on to suggest his behaviour was shameful given the young boy that was accompanying him (it was unclear whether this was his son or grandson) - this appeared to further provoke his anger and resulted in clear threats of violence (he threatened to "do me" and "knock my block off"). Once again the steward close by had to intervene to calm him down.

I have followed City for 40 years and have never ever been abused by a fellow City supporter. I was shocked and upset having made the journey up from near London that day to receive such unprovoked aggression and I spent the rest of the half stunned and aggrieved that this mindless idiot could so thoroughly ruin my evening.

Later as the match drew to a close I felt the need to ask him what had caused his repeated aggressive verbal attacks and threats of violence to which I didn't receive a satisfactory response. Indeed both he and the tall well built man next to him (to his right) both offered to take me outside and "give me a good kicking". I once again pointed out the shameless nature of this threatening and aggressive behaviour to both of them in the presence of children - some of which were in their charge.

By this time I had had enough and asked the steward to reseat me away from theses threats of violence which had begun to make me concerned for my own safety particularly post match if these two individuals' threats were to be taken seriously.

The steward helpfully took me away from the scene and I engaged with a senior steward post match to fill in a form attempting to detail my complaint. You can understand this was difficult to articulate in the heat of the moment and therefore I have felt it appropriate to follow up with this mail.

In response I would like the club to detail the following:-

- What sanctions the two individuals who threatened violence to me will be subject to?
- If I believe the club has not taken seriously my complaint I reserve the right to take up with GMP directly - I am sure the CCTV will attest to the unprovoked nature of this verbal assault.
- How the club will ensure that someone like me who purchased an (expensive) ticket through Viagogo won't be subject to the same threatening and disgusting behaviour?

In summary it has taken me a couple of weeks to gather my thoughts and make this complaint - so upset have I been.

I would like to think the club take my narrative seriously and will give me the satisfaction of an appropriate response.

OP sounds like a pompous wally and/or on the spectrum. Almost always takes 2 pal.

"I quite reasonably asked what had caused this outpouring of unprovoked aggression and loutishness and, to my astonishment, this neanderthal reacted quite improperly. I must say, I was vexed and more than a little intimidated by his assertion that he would 'knock my block off'... I noted that there were children and ladies present and that, therefore, his chimpish display was entirely inappropriate. Remarkably, this only served to increase his ire... Even when I calmly asked a steward to intervene and remove him from the stadium he could not be placated... It is not that I would like compensation, though I would, but the principle that concerns me."

You're not getting free tickets and you're not getting a season ticket holder banned.

Funny I thought the point of this forum was to discuss all things City where the only common factor is our love for the club - wasn't aware that it is actually a little clique where only the chosen will be engaged with and if your not one of "us" then we don't give a f*ck.

The nonsense in response to my OP is breathtaking. A thug threateaned to batter me and apparently:-

- I must have deserved it? Lots of amateur Sherlock Holmes providing this insight without any evidence - thanks for that.
- I deserved it anyway for being a "southerner" (which isn't true - b&b Manc) - which is unbelievable.
- Being criticised for writing to the club - so I should have risked my career and a criminal record by fighting with this guy? Perhaps I was acting like a grown up?
- Being criticised for asking the guy why he was having a go at me and others saying I must have said something to rile him. Guess what I hadn't a clue and wasn't going to shut up just because some thug "asked" me to.

I've had a couple of messages of support which I'm grateful for (including a guy who saw it close up and was gobsmacked at the behaviour of the guy swinging at me attempting to hit me) but I find the general gist of the responses depressing and a sad reflection on this board.

I guess I'll take my opinions elsewhere in future if this is the standard of support here for a lifelong passionate blue.

So, do you talk like you wrote that letter, because you do realise you come across like a twat don't you?

And the point you make about 'being criticised for writing to the club' - was writing to the club the only alternative to fighting him, as it makes it look like that with what you just wrote

And It seems there's still only half a story knocking around here so whats the truth? What did you say that he objected to
