What the fuck is it with this thread turning into a Hart witch hunt too?
Back on topic, Garcia has improved a lot lately, still has his faults but it's funny what a bit of regular playing time can do for a footballer's form.

I think its more than regular playing time, i'm certain he must have been working on his game with the coaches and Pellers - another player going through transformation under the supervision of the Count maybe?

I don't think it's as simple as that Gillie - Joe's generally excellent at the reaction save but has never controlled his area, had good positioning or distribution and, while Costel is undoubtedly better in commanding his area and distribution I've not seen enough of him to make a fair assessment in the stopping stakes.
I suspect that Mancini was right and that what we really need is a top class goalkeeper to meet our top class aspirations as a club.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

Had a decent game yesterday and has been better of late. Still dont see him as a long term solution or believe hes suites to Prem lge football either.
I rate Milner a much better all round player, especially in cent midf but Pellegrini sadly doesnt share this opinion. And yes I do think Milner could play anchor midf.

All this stuff about it being his best game for us yesterday is rubbish,he played well yesterday as usual, but the games against Palace,Newcastle,Stoke,West Ham,those people called Bayern he played better. He got a few tackles in yesterday which is all some seem to rate a player on.

A few years ago he would have been indispensable but times have changed. No way good enough compared to yaya, milner and Ferd. If we need a player like him there must be better out there.

Indeed, stopping the opposition as opposed to watching them run away from you, is what most people prefer, & he did indeed do that differently than in most games he has played.

I have actually noticed a couple of signs that his confidence is growing. The other game against Blackburn, he turned inside and took a shot on from distance which their keeper saved well and yesterday he made a run down the right and did very well to dig a cross out.
Nothing to get overly excited about but perhaps it could be his first steps to imposing himself on games more.

At times it's almost like we are playing 3 at the back & he is the middle cb.
He has done it well too, much better than when he did actually play in a back 3 under Mancini & was a joke.
Lucas does same role at Liverpool, drops in as a third centre half at time, it's an interesting tactic not sure whether I like it or not.
derby day the scores were level,

I can't decide either.
Barry does it at Everton sometimes when they have the ball & are moving around. Garcia was actually there heading the ball out on occasion yesterday though.

Noticed that too, when we have CB's that seen to have grown a liking for marauding forwards it does have its positives.

I thought Garcia had a good game. I hope he improves more in the future. Good luck to him.

That's the top and bottom of it. He'd only deserve the kind of abuse he gets on here were he not pulling his weight, and he clearly IS working his bollocks off.
I should add that the crowd got right behind every header and tackle won on Saturday and you could see in his posture that he was responding to it, growing into the game.

For all the good stuff he did, imo if we want a player doing that job in big, important games, what we need is a faster/better version.
Same goes for Demichelis/Nastasic.

At the end of last season, there were 3 players I'd have got rid of, mainly for lack of doing what was asked of them. Kolarov has been our best left back this season; Dzeko has become a new player in the last month or so and was probably my man of the match on Saturday; and now Garcia is starting to look like a premier league player.
Not sure what Pellegrini is feeding them, but it's working. Just need to give Demechelis a double helping this week.

I'd forgotten about Nasri. He did nothing last season to make me want to forgive the cheese eating surrender monkey for ducking out of the way of the free kick. This season, he's played really well.
Another who is thriving on Pellegrini's special sauce. A bit like Dave Lee Travis' special sauce, but without the court case

There arn't half some bollocks spoken about Javi.
Aganist Cardiff was one of his worst games for us(although he was still pretty good).
He was just as slow
passed sideways as much,5 yard pass everytime, won no headers.
Because it was a record breaking game all the experts finally see his value

I don't think a single person attributed the 100 goals with gracias performance. Id dare say that's the single dumbest thing you've ever said, and lord knows that takes some beating.
