2 Arsenal 18 18 39
3 Chelsea 18 15 37
4 Liverpool 18 22 36
5 Everton 18 12 34

However, all the rest have to play tomorrow so one of them will close in or overtake us. Only Arsenal can go top with a tough away game at the Toon.

Its starting to look very very good!

If Chelsea don't win tomorrow then things will start looking very nice indeed. For a while now there has only been 1/2 points between first and fourth, and if results go favourably tomorrow (ideally Chelsea/Liverpool draw and Arsenal lose) we should be starting to feel very confident. Most the points we have lost so far this season were ones we threw away ourselves, if we can stop doing that in the second half of the season we could become hard to catch.

Very exciting times!

Just realised that we've broke the 40 point mark. That's us sorted for the season then, break out the Brut in celebration of another season in the PL.

Yeee Haaaa ;-)

Seriously good 3pts that.Absolutely delighted and that's 2 games in a row now where we have held onto a lead without being close to our best. They can all put their feet up now and have a good rest before a must 3pts at Swansea next week.

PS glad we were not playing Swansea today.

Agreed. We can't play scintillating stuff every week - 3 points and we move on.

hes so poor he let vince do the midfield role on a number of times in the second half.

Funnily enough I thought Garcia had decided to play centre-half in the second half.

19th century, I missed that lol.

Anyway, can anybody guess what Pulis had to say after the match? I bet he didn't bring money into it, did he ;-)

Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis: "We are really disappointed to have not got anything from the game. The difference between the teams is spending about £350m. The weekly wages of one of their players would probably cover half my team and if I was their manager, I would be sat on the sidelines with a cigar in my mouth."

If he was our manager there would be no problem buying a ticket for home games. What a classless tw@t.

Seems to be a shared trait amongst British managers.

Pulis is the master of negative anti-football tactics. Palace goalkeeper took at least 30 seconds over every goal kick, and similar at throw-ins. On one occasion the ball went into his technical area and he just let it roll past him. He'll do anything to waste time.

I'm sure Pullis will be sorry to hear that.

Get over yourself, if you stop for a couple of seconds and think it through what the fuck was he supposed to do?

As a manager with the resources available to him, he set his team up to give them the best chance of getting a result and very nearly pulled it off.

Once they went behind it was al but over, but they had carried a threat on the break, which is why Hart was MOM.

It may well be goal difference that keeps his team up at the end of the season and not getting the sort of pasting that other teams a lot better than Palace have at the Etihad this season was a good result for him.

Sounds like you've thrown all your toys out of the pram because we didn't get 7 or 8.

Happy new year!

Take a chill pill mate .I think he would play like this or nearly ugly with Barcelona players and i have right to not watch or i dont :)
You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

For playing against oppositions like Crystal Palace who park the bus / when Yaya is rested against weaker teams :

How about using Nasri in a deeper role, like today when he was playing along with Ferna, esp when Yaya is not playing.

For playing in Yaya's position Nasri cannot hold on to the ball longer/tackling is bad compared to yaya, but he closes gaps and seems to enjoy playing more central. Also Nasri/Silva already play their and Yays's role when Garcia is in midfield, since Garica only does half his job(defending) why not put Nasri in his position and have Ferna behind him against weaker teams. Like Real Madrid when Modric plays in deeper role.

Really important win.

Well done Garcia, was the only midfielder left for the last 30mins after a baffling set of substitutions, some idiots slagging him off because he would not get forward.

Hope they get relegated.
