Gee, spoilt for choice here: Edin, Lescott, Fernandinho, Silva, Clichy (unsung hero) all impressed me, but I'm going for NAVAS for his incredible PL debut. He gels with the team like he's been playing with them for a couple of seasons; hard-working, intelligent, fantastic pace.
PS. I got my 4 GD wish to silence the satanists.

Other than that, Navas. Great effort, always a threat and would have had a couple of assists if Dzeko had converted.

Like Mancini made those teams their potential?

Edit: Sorry, sSounds defensive/offensive, depending on how you see it, but what would you prefer, a Mancini win and go on to win the league or a Pelligrini win that goes on to win the title?

All the same in my book.

I voted for Navas, constant threat and the toon had no answer to his pace. run Forrest run.

It was like having the tackling of De Jong AND the ability to actually play in the opposition's half in one player. He made me feel like he's got a coupla red cards in him this season maybe, and was passing the ball to the opposition too much, but for a home debut in this league i thought he was the perfect complement to Yaya.

cheers

Without being to deflamatory I still don't see it. I believe it's there and have every faith that he'll get there but MotM, are you fucking crazy!

You're a 'Fernando Licker', nothing worse. What the fuck did he do today apart from making amends?

Among other things, he could have had at least 2 assists. His 40 yd lob over the top to silva was fucking inch perfect. Also put it on a plate for dzeko. Incredible player.

It was Dzeko's best performance yet in a City shirt and a goal would have capped his performance nicely. However, my vote for motm went to Jesus. As debuts go it was almost on a par with Aguero's 2 seasons ago (funnily enough again on a Monday night, opening game of the season at the Etihad, when we beat Swansea 4-0) and I believe we have signed a gem of a player in Navas. His performance had everything - pace, great movement on and off the ball, amazing vision, intellligence, accurate crossing, excellent range of passing and had it not been for poor finishing and some excellent saves by Krul, he would have had a few assists as well. I believe that he, more than any other player will make the difference to our play as it allows us to play more directly and with unbelievable pace. I reckon he must be the quickest player in the Premier League.

Jesus is our saviour

Has to be Dzeko for me
I picked him on my FF team, but what I can't understand is that they haven't awarded him any bonus points; and have only credited him with one assist!!!!

I went for Dzeko. He was excellent tonight and fully deserved a goal. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come from him.

Other notable mentions:
- Navas' debut was exciting and it's great to have a genuine winger in the side now.
- Fernandinho's work rate was excellent and he was fully involved in both defence and attack. He was caught in possession a few times early on but he'll get used to the Prem and I think he'll adjust well.
- Solid performance from Lescott. He doesn't always look comfortable on the ball but he was making an effort to pass the ball around more I felt. His defending was top drawer tonight.

Everyone played well though - a fantastic start to the season.

Hardly difficult, mate. Dzeko was our best player.

i went for Kompany. he didnt have much to do but when he got involved he was immense.

Fernandinho and Navas deserve recognition too.
