Confederations Cup 2013

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

The way the Italians burst Spain's midfield on the break first half was very similar to the Dortmund & Bayern destructions of Real & Barca & indeed City's problems v Dortmund. Also, Navas made Silva look like an old man.

Imo, it shows hoe Pellegrini is not bullshitting when he says Fernandinho & Navas were priority signings. Isco is a pure talent, but nowhere near as dynamic as those two. The difference Navas made to Spain, he could also make to City, & Fernandinho would have been yards ahead of any of their midfield.

Very encouraging.

Navas has genuine pace and will give us width. We've not had anyone like that since Petrov.
Love traditional wingers, he'll earn us a lot of points.

i'm not sure that any team can adapt to that. It's just so...modern and unusual.

Eh? Get a fucking grip. Literally.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Sorry couldn't help it! Remember his incredible burst of pace and run and cross to set up Mpenza's goal vs Newcastle? Oh how we've missed pace like that.

Cavani brace. Diamanti with a glorious free kick to tie it 2-2; that guy sure can take a set piece.
