Confederations Cup 2013

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Cavani is a good striker but not a great one. He's not worth anything like the money Napoli are asking.

If the Sheikh wants to pay it, then great, I'm sure he'll score (& miss) plenty, but i'm not arsed if we don't sign him.

I feel the same and have let it be known my opinion that the money they are asking is laughable.I really don't think he is the kind of player who will dramatically improve the team.If your going to spend big it needs to be justified. As far as i can make out we appear to be chasing this deal the past few windows and really getting nowhere with Napoli.

This is the same chance that certain Mario blasted past Neuer , isn't it?

Not sure if Cavani worth 63m tbh, I'd rather someone like Yilmaz, Jovetic or even an upcoming star like Luis Muriel.

He looks like he could do a fair bit for us. Needed to take the shot near the end though.

That pace though, god how we have lacked that. I know it's against Tahiti but you can see how crazy fast the guy is.

Delighted we have him.

He looked good (so would i against them) but a bit of pace like that will do us no harm at all.

Certainly cavani is not worth the stupid money Napoli want.
We really need to sort out tevez, if he goes we need a replacement, that won't be easy.

I think you'll find that was Australia 31-0 American Samoa.

You want to know crazy? They won 22-0 a few days earlier against Tonga, set the world record, then broke it.

I think Archie Thompson's 13 goals is an international record as well.

55 mill ,to much.
You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

That's quite a feat mate. That averages out at a goal every 7 minutes.

I can top it, you should see the scores from the two groups. Fiji who finished second to Australia in their group scored an average of 9 goals per match against the other teams(not including Australia). The entire group over 10 matches scored 109 goals. Group 2 finished with 63 goals from their 10 games...still not bad but topped by Australia who scored 66 in their four games. There were zero draws in all 20 games and each group ended with a nice and orderly 12, 9, 6, 3, 0 point total. And finally Vanuatu who lost all but one of their games by significant margins, won their only game 8-1.

This was insanity in it's true form and thank god Australia left the qualification group.

How did Tahiti make it to the Confederations Cup. Does that mean they are the Oceania Champs and they beat New Zealand for that title. The Kiwis have a decent side ??

It certainly does. Shows that the Oceanic teams are hopeless, but they got there fare and square.

One hell of a story to tell your grand kids 'Did I ever tell you about the time I marked Iniesta out of the game?'

Oh fun, they didn't even beat NZ for the confederation title, New Zealand lost to New Caledonia in the semi who then went on to lose to Tahiti. NZ had their golden day in South Africa and I don't expect we'll be seeing them again for a while.

So if Spain win this the Spanish national team of all levels will hold: Confederations Cup, WC, Euro championship x2, u-21 Euro championship x2, and the potential of the U-20 WC going on now?

Bloody hell

No. It's not respectable to be holders of the confederations cup.

Other than that you have a point.

I also saw something about Spanish La Liga (xavi, busquets, iniesta, pedro, villa, casillas, alba, pique, puyol, arbeloa, xabi alonso) vs Spanish Premier league (Torres, mata, Cazorla, silva, Javi Garcia, arteta, monreal, cuellar, Azpilicueta, de gea, Chico flores) and whod win.
