his contract's up on 30th June, so he's going somewhere and as you say, if it's down the East Lancs road he won't even have to move house

I'd rather keep Kolo on a rolling deal. He's the most obvious understudy to Vinnie at RCB.

Why is it great news? I can think of a few who should be in the que for the exit door before him.
He has deputised admirably for vinny when vinny gets suspended/calf injuries.

I'm with you. Ideal cover, played well the last year, doesn't moan much. Cant help thinking we will sign another CB who expects to play every week.

I think Micah will be seen as cover for both right back and the right centre back positions. With that in mind, Kolo's age, and expiring contract I'm fine with him going. No loss imo.

@tancredipalmeri: Napoli pres. De Laurentiis: "We are in talks with Manchester City for Cavani and Dzeko"

Interesting.

I've never had Cavani down as my No1 dream target (although I'm sure he would be excellent for us) but the idea of that deal going through has me overwhelmed with joy.

If we are genuinely interested in Cavani, then including Dzeko in the deal would allow DeLaurentis to drop the Cavani buyout clause without losing face; he could just value Dzeko higher & leave us with less extra to pay.

And I recon Dzeko would piss it in Italy, so the fans won't miss Cavani so much; everyone would be happy on both sides.

It could be the case of course, that we are not actually interested in Cavani.

Ha ha good point Ted. We'd sign the whole Ajax team on that basis.
So it seems its goodbye Edin and Tevez. Hello Edin and Falcao.

Suppose if their man really said that then we are saying bye to edin. Cavani wouldn't be on my wish list but he is better than edin and good for 20 goals a season.

Good pro and great cover, however I reckon we could get someone to fill that role who is not on 120,000k a week.

Id rather have Falcao than Cavani or a Dzeko-Reus swap but Cavani wouldnt be bad, especially since including Dzeko would get rid of the release clause.

And at least we know Cavani likes playing in light blue (Uruguay and Napoli)

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.
