Whether we like or not, I still believe that what Kaldhoon said a couple of seasons ago stands true and the big cash has gone. Unless there is a major rethink, the big money was spent to get us into CL qualifying health, we have achieved that and that is where we will remain, except for a bit of tinkering here and there where money has been freed up.
The balance sheet rules and we are set to follow an FFP compliance policy. New deals may happen if we can bring in extra commercial income or sell player to cover the expense.
Bob will be forced to work with what he has got already, supplemented by our present academy. I think Bob is well aware of the situation and this is reflected by the number of younger players being brought in or put on the bench.
Both Razak and Rekik have made the 1st eleven, Lopes, Razak and Helan have come of the bench and got minutes on the field and Razak (7), Evans (4), Scapuzzi (1), Mappen-Walters (2), Nimely (1), Rekik (3) and Suarez (1), have all been unused subs. Also add to that, Boyata has been brought back from his loan.

It looks pretty obvious that we now seem to have a policy of improvement from within except in exceptional circumstances. Why else would we allow our two nearest rival (the rags and Chelsea) to strengthen with the likes of Van Penis and Hazard without attempting to match them?

I still think we will have to make some signings each year to keep things ticking over. I don't think relying on young players coming through will be enough, arseholenal have been doing that for 6 or7 years and won nothing.

I sincerely hope I have misread the situation and am proven to be well off the mark. It's the way I read it when the Sheik came in and what was said when Hughes was sacked just compounded it. Stuff that has happened since seems to have confirmed it.

I don't see it as set in stone and I don't see us stagnating because of it. I think any spending will, out of fiscal necessity, be linked with our commercial activity and having offloaded such a huge lump of losses from the balance sheet in just one 12 month period makes me optimistic that things are going well.

As most of our present commercial activity seems to be with companies already linked to ADUG, we have a whole World to target and I think that is where Soriano comes in. He changed Barca's income streams from good to almost beyond belief in a very short space of time.

Unlike the rags and Arsenal. our owners aren't bleeding us dry. What is going on at the Emirates is appalling, earning for profit and sitting on the winnings. Great for us though. I fully believe that our books will balance over the next couple of years and then, the sky is the limit.

The elite Euro old order are hoping like hell that the FFPR will be our undoing but it looks now like at worst, it will be hiccup, a mere bit of a delay at most.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

You'd never fail on blaming Marwood, Sir John.... :-)

I agree on the perspective and totally on a wise NOT SPENDING IN JANUARY policy.
I expect, hope and think that Soriano and Berguistain shall prove what they are made of by fixing the two remaining frailties we all are well aware of: a deep lying box to box to shade Yaya (suspects are always the same: DDR and Xabi Alonso, in first place, or fancy an improbable bid on Thiago Alcantara?) and fast tracking wide man with playmaking attitude to provide additional headaches to opponents managers who can now mainly focus on stopping Silva (no news on usual suspects: Isco, Munian, fancy an improbable bid on Goetze?)

From then on I reckon the age of City big spending on senior players will be over.

Why is he seriously crocked? Did he have a bad injury, I can't remember.

My gut feeling is that he was worn by Mourinho' s over demand, but that just a feeling.

As a matter of fact since the Clown left, Snejider has been plagued by 4-5 injuries which stopped him from 1 to 3 months each, approx, and what's relevant to me, the player who once was as consistent as a Vincent Kompany, has no more shown any continuity on influential performances since then.
the fact that he' s today on either a transfer to a lesser league for about £ 8 mil or accept a significant wages cut option speaks volume to me. And Taggart staying put on a relatively easy grab reinforce such opinion.

What annoyed me about Mancini is the owner said after we won that we won't e spending big or need to as we did have team of champions. Then summer started to end and Mancini was moaning that he couldn't get the players he wanted. For example de Rossi, but why have another holding old midfielder anyway?

All that tinkering at the start and using jack rodwell who cost us two goals, one of them cost us winning against dortmund and even maybe qualification.

Bring Franky Lampard or Wesley Sneider in, both top class players that will be cheap. Sneider is on big money and is refusing to take a pay cut, why shouldn't he? I know of my boss told me he was deducting my salary for doing the same job I'd tell him to stick it!

I don't want that poisonous prick Lampard anywhere near City personally - it's no coincidence stories destabilising the manager/club started appearing in the press every time he was dropped for a few matches. Mr. Head Witch of the player's cabal.
So this is how it feels to be City,
This is what it means to stand tall,
This is how it feels when our club has no debt at all.

sounds like QPR are about to pull off 2 great signings in Loic Remy and Yann M'Villa.
Both have been in a slump of sorts in France but they could be great in the front 6 of QPR with Granero and Taarabt.

Now, don't shoot the messenger but I'm hearing that we maybe signing somebody fairly soon. If it doesn't happen soon it may happen later but if doesn't happen then, we may have to wait until the end of the season.

I know, awesome news. Watch this space.

Last minute? It's the middle of January !

Or is that a prediction?

What's Twitter? Sorry mate, was a late night at Carrington. Had to get the lads to sort the nets out, some pesky bastard keeps cutting holes in it.

Bonus though, got myself a new step ladder the other day. Bit dodgy but it does the job.

Yeah, thats what I read and meant by last minute. It had seemed done and dusted that Gala had made a deal and he'd sign..but then Liverpool swooped in, supposedly, and tried to make a bid. Now Sneijder is being a bitch and making everyone wait on him, hoping United come in.

2231: QPR boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed that Loic Remy has had a medical today, and a deal to sign Yann M'Vila is 'very close'. Could be a very busy month at Loftus Road...

Honest, Guv, I don't wanna spend any of your money.
