Garcia is deffo deffo no Colin Belll and never will be , Joe Corrigan would probably be a better midfield player than Garcia right now :)

Didnt that useless cunt Bebe the rags were palmed off with come from Benfica aswell ....... some very dodgy agents out there made a few quid from mancland methinks !

Garcia may not make it with City, but he has been a quality player in his own league & very decent in Europe.

Garcia isnt quality mate , just my opinion and i know a player when i see one. It hurts me like fuck to knock any city player and i never ever do it , but in this era paved with gold i just cant help myself with this signing im afraid.

How do you 'know a player' when you think the replacement for a defensive midfielder is Mezut Ozil?

He is struggling but he wasn't at fault for the defeat and I doubt there'd be a fresh, 40-odd post thread on him had we won.

An earlier poster said that he couldn't help but have a pop at JG given the riches we now have at our disposal. EH?! Surely we're now in a better position than ever before to give players time and space to settle in.

And enough with the 'he's no NDJ' bollocks. Nige wanted to go (or, at least, wasn't too arsed about staying) and this guy wanted to come. Let's get behind the cunt. He's trying.

Can better expand Your trick, Alioune?
While I was the early poster who couldnt help, I cannot find trace of comparison to " the riches we now have"...

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

So what you're saying is this: I never knock a City player unless I want to.

Always felt we needed to give the lad time to settle but as previously stated he gives the ball away, slips over, and doesnt look confident on or off the ball. Have now player "watched" him on a couple of games and thought for the money he is in fact.... shite.

Previous stats most notably at Benfica are not exactly great!! 16 odd million quid for a distincly avarage player. "surplus to requirements" at Real after coming through their youth ranks and shipped off to Benfica for 7 Million Euros.

Years Team Apps† (Gls)†

2008–2009 Real Madrid 15 (0)
2009–2012 Benfica 74 (6)
2012– Manchester City 6 (1)

Sort of wonder what "Marwood" saw in him ;-)

Although he is playing shite at the moment there is a stat that shows he runs the most in some games along with Gareth So him not trying can't be levelled at him.Think he just needs to find his feet.

I actually thought he was much better in the 2nd half yesterday. Was trying harder and made a couple of good forward passes. I think I'll reserve final judgement until the end of the season. Some players need more time (and playing time) to settle in than others.

I can respect the attitude of Your post: it commands respect.
But have You ever seen Yaya, even in his laziest moments, losing every ball he has touched in a whole game? Slipping on balls as they were banana's skins? Ok I am on rant mood, but I saw the game and I use to pay much attention on the mid park.

Come on, this bloke is supposed to be a professional footballer hired to play in the core of the game!

I can think of 3 or 4 games early in Yaya's city career where he was just as bad as Garcia, not worse, but certainly as bad. Yaya's first 6 months were not all that grand.

Garcia has some great attributes, mainly his aerial ability, he just needs time to forge his role in the midfield.

He isn't anywhere near settled yet and his below par performances show this. He needs a settled run in the team, crunch time will be Jan when Yaya is at the ACON, we will see what he is made of then.

Fingers crossed he takes a turn for the better, just hold off the lynch mob a bit longer lads!

To be honest, why the fuck we sold De Jong for next to nothing just to "waste" 16m on this guy, I still do not understand.
Should have kept De Jong until his contract runs out instead.

The NDJ comparison is moot if you look only at the Dortmund game. Our problem was that we had Barry and Garcia as a central midfield pairing against a team that presses very intensively high up the pitch. Neither of them - and that goes for NDJ as well - is comfortable with picking up the ball from the defenders and turning the play forward with a man at their back. Which of course resulted in Kompany and Lescott getting the ball back and being forced to play the long ball.

In my opinion - with Yaya and Silva missing - it would have been a better option to sub either of them for Nasri, or to change the formation and allow Nasri to play central and collect the ball from Kompany/Lescott. The few times Tevez dropped to start the play, we looked much better. The problem is that we then lacked a passing option further up the field, since Carlos can't pass it to himself.

having slept over my knee jerk rage, I can only say well and wisely said, Mate, and fair enough.

Still I all honesty I have to looking deep into my very poor memory to recall such an [strike]appaling[/strike] non footballing performance like yesterday night Garcia's and all I can remember as comparable are from lesser divisions Sided, almost always managed by clueless morons.
Yes Yaya took a little more that a while to perform up to his class, I too remember several very ineffective efforts, but againand in all friendship and relaxed mood, I am not sure if You have actually looked close at Garcia performance of yesterday. Pathetic enough, as some posters have noted, because he genuinely seemed to be arsed.
I acknowledge he has some good spell at his credit in previous career, but I honestly never seen a midfielder so blatantly misperforming for an Upper League Side.

I can't say I've broke down his performance last night as I was out and didn't fancy analysing a game when I got in which to all intents seemed like one we performed to a very generously "meh" standard.

I have seen most of Garcia's city involvement though and have seen some basic evidence that there is a player in there somewhere. His debut at Stoke for example was superb, sadly he hasn't pushed on from or even hit that level again but this doesn't mean he won't, we just need to give him some time.

According to the stats, Garcia has played at total of 634mins of football for city since signing, if you break that down it is 7 full 90 mins total.

Surely we should give a guy a bit longer than 7 games to find his feet! Sheath the swords till Feb at least!!
