I'm wary of Tevez right now. In past few weeks I've had very little time to follow football news (crazy eh?) but the article I read about Tevez thinking of calling it a day or moving to Boca was quite shocking and raised some questions about his mentality. Also Tevez is no central midfielder.

I thought the biggest change when Tevez came on was Ireland, having an outlet in front of him seemed to free him up and he was a lot more involved in the game.

Definitely, so far I have been a bit underwhelmed with Tevez but have been willing to wait and see. I think in his previous game he had about 7 shots from distance and not one was below the height of the crossbar, but yesterday he was holding up teh ball fantastically well. When teh ball went forward it stayed there, that brought players like Ireland and SWP into it more. It was that syle of play from Tevez that led to our 2nd

I DONT THINK WE ARE IMPROVING AT THE BACK AT ALL !!!!
THE MARKING IS STILL ATROCIOUS.......THAT FREE HEADER AT THE END WOULD HAVE GIVEN THE DIPPERS ALL 3 POINTS.

BARRY NEEDS A REST AND HAS TO SORT HIS GAME OUT.
SWP ALSO NEEDS A REST,WEISS SHOULD GET A RUN OF GAMES NOW.

UPFRONT ADE HAS ACTUALLY BEEN PLAYING POOR FOR THE LAST FEW GAMES (EVEN IF HE DID SCORE YESTERDAY)....HE HAS LOST POSSESION AND BEEN OUT OF POSTIION A FEW TIMES....HOPEFULLY HE WILL GET BACK TO BEING WHAT HE WAS BEFORE HIS SUSPENSION.
IRELAND HAS TO SORT OUT SOME OF HIS DECISION MAKING - THE ONE WHERE HE SHOULD HAVE SHOT AT THE GOAL INSTEAD OF PASSING IT TO NOONE WAS REALLY FRUSTRATING TO WITNESS...THERE AGAIN I SUPPOSE HE,S ONE OF THOSE TALENTS WHERE YOU JUST HAVE TO ACCEPT HE IS WHAT HE IS???!!!

IMPROVEMENTS -TEVEZ HAD ONE OF HIS BEST GAMES FOR US SO FAR AND SHOULD GO STRAIGHT INTO THE STARING 11 NEXT WEEK.

THE TEAM AS A WHOLE IMPROVED WHEN WE WENT 1 - 0 DOWN BUT WHY WE DIDNT START OFF LIKE THAT IS ANYONES GUESS!!
WE HAVE TO IMPROVE OUR MENTALITY.

HUGHES HAS SOME WORK TO DO.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Carl, I very rarely disagree with your comments and observations.

Well guess what, I don't disagree here either !

When Robbie scored the equaliser at Blackburn last season in the 94th minute it seemed to save Hughes's arse.

Since then and even in the close season, when the owner decided to give Hughes a vote of confidence, I decided to
accept the fact that Hughes should be given one more season and not bother to even discuss a change or think about a change.

We have paid outrageous sums of money for average players. Ade is good but not that good. Toure too, why else would Wenger let them go , other than for money ? ( and we paid a lot less for those guys than RSC and Lescott).

In fact, I think Toure is one of weakest links in defence. Sure, he was replaced yesterday and Nedum got a chance.

People have had a go at Zabba for the foul that lead to the free kick for the first goal. Yes that really was pathetic and your average amateur player wouldn't be so stupid, but it happened.

Nobody mentions the same thing that Barry did in the opening minutes, needlessly in the first half when Kuyt fell to the floor easily, possibly already aware that a free kick in the danger zone around the penalty box is an advantage against City these days. But it happened.

It happens all too often. Barry has gone rapidly downhill from the start of the season, SWP can't beat his man anymore.

We're playing kick and run football for the most part and even the goalkeeper won't pass to his defenders unless he really has to. Elvis Costello's "Pump it up" comes to mind.

Doesn't any player in the squad or the management understand that when the ball is in the air it's a 50/50 ball and no longer under City's control ?

Hull and Bolton will be dogfight games. Arsenal will go into the cup game with a nothing to lose attitude, because we know Wenger will start some youngsters. Chelsea are playing clinical football right now and will be brimming with confidence.

Thereafter we've got Spurs. Enough said.

At the beginning of the season, with our squad, I was chalking up 3pts in games like Hull at home.

Now, I really am confused about where this squad and team is going. God knows what they do all week in training ( and yes I do read DH's reports).

Was pleased with the 2nd half performance in general, apart from a few defensive errors.

This year we drew with a floundering Liverpool side.

1. Was that the game two days after we'd trashed Hull 5-1?

2. The market has dictated our expenditure. Above and beyond that, clubs are well aware of our owners' wealth and add a City premium onto their price. To catch up with the others we had to spend. So we did.

3. Is that the same Ade with 5 goals in 9 games so far this season? Or 46 in two seasons for Arsenal?

4. Touré was poor yesterday because he got injured early on. That's why he came off. Otherwise, every blue I've spoken to has been impressed by him. Confident on the ball, reads the game well and is a genuine threat from set pieces. Our vulnerability at the moment is to do with a lack of understanding between the back four, naturally, when you consider the short amount of time they've had together. With patience, they will begin to understand each other's play and be stronger as a unit. But given the market's current inflated valuations, £15million is a reasonable amount of money for a 28 year old defender with title winning experience.

Also, RSC cost £17million and Adebayor £25million- how does that make RSC a lot more expensive?

5. I'd best book an appointment at Specsavers in that case, could swear I saw him tear through their defenders on numerous occasions in the second half, getting good shots away and eventually setting up our equaliser.

6. This was certainly a problem in recent games, however I thought yesterday we were vastly improved in keeping the ball on the ground and creating chances.

7. This team is sixth in the table, with five wins, six draws and one defeat from twelve games. We are the 5th highest goal scorers and 7th lowest conceders. We have a tricky game in hand against Everton which may or may not go favourably.

In others words, it's not been an exceptional start and not a shocking one. We're there or thereabouts without setting the world alight and that, for some reason, is causing more fucking hysteria than I've heard in years. I was vocal about our problems last season, we played disgracefully at times and were in the relegation zone on Christmas Day. If there was a time for hysteria- that was it. The day after getting a point at Anfield isn't.

I'd much sooner see us start off reasonably well, getting better and better as time goes on rather than putting in amazing performances early doors and crashing spectacularly at the run-in. Slow and steady wins the race.

Hmmm,

I think there are many pros and contras here. most of what is said , positive or negative can be supplied contra arguemnts.
one thing is for sure Slow and steady wins the race certainly doesn't apply we are already 12 points behind with a six pointer coming up next week.

We won't win the race this season at all.

Concerning Ade - he has just been voted the best buy of the season by fellow Premier League players (I think, it could have been Prem managers though) so I think I will go along with them plus the evidence of my own eyes rather than your vague assertion that he isnt that good.

Adebayor is quality.

Could we go back to Ched Evans or Big Phil? LOL

I think as far as this defending goes you can see the sheer disbelief in Les' face at some of these individual blunders, when we are in a winning position especially.

He wont make a lot of noise about it, but if the people concerned dont get to the required standard they will be replaced for sure.
