Weekends Internationals

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Weekends Internationals

Postby Beefymcfc » Fri Nov 13, 2009 5:54 pm

Before I start, may I just ask where everyone's gone as it's a Friday evening and there are only 6 people on the board? Hopefully the distraction of internationals will tear us away from our debating all that is City.

Anyway, seeing that the International Weekend is here again, I was wondering what you'll all be watching and your thoughts on the games.

Due to the fact I am forced to stay in and around this weekend I will be having a lazy day in front of the telly which will start with Wales v Scotland at 1430 hrs on SS1, followed by the England v Brazil game at 1630 hrs on ITV. However, the biggest game of the day for me has to be Ireland v France, a crucial game for both teams. If Ireland can get a win at home, I'd fancy them to go through, however if they draw or lose I cannot see them getting through which will be a shame.

I personally have them for a win as France just seem so hit and miss, however if my thoughts on the referee being made a puppet of the Blatter/Platini twins, then I'm afraid whatever Ireland do, it will never be enough.

Thoughts please.....................if there's anyone there???

I'm about to head off soon, too, to watch the rugby.

Watching Portugal-Bosnia tomorrow night. A few people I know here are going to France-Ireland with the Irish pub (both legs- I think tomorrow's is in Ireland, but not certain).

Heading to Croke Park tomorrow night for Ireland v France more in hope than expectation. We have played some awful football at times in the group matches but managed to come through unbeaten. Any kind of win and a clean sheet will give us a chance when we get to Paris. Richard Dunne will need to have a big game. Atmosphere before tha match should be great so hopefully the team will do thier bit to keep it going for the ninety minutes. I agree with beefymcfc, I'm afraid the referee could have a big influence on this match especially if it is not going the way of the French.

Nice one Blue Boy, but tell me, have you taken over from Vhero; is he now redundant?

Am planning to catch Slovakia v. USA tomorrow so I can see Vladi rip apart our back four.

Might even stay up late to see New Zealand v. Bahrain in the AFC/OFC playoff game.

haha, nah vhero does a great job putting streams on for the city games on here but since he doesnt post streams for other games,i thought i would have a crack. And cant he only be made redundant if he is getting payed hey! : ) so whats happening tomorow. Is it myself, beefy and others just chilling out watching the footy all day on a saturday. Are we sad twats or was this what we was born to do. I am just pissed that there is no city this weekend. Hopefully the internationals will live up to their expectations!!!

What time is the US game?

Obviously watching the England game, but hopefully they scheduled them well enough to catch both.

The England game is also being carried by ZDF in Germany. If you want a completely independent commentary !

As for the Ireland game it's on Eurosport, as well as the obvious French and Irish channels.

I'll be watching Bahrain v New Zealand. 0-0 in Bahrain after the first leg. Bahrain blew totally cold in that game. One of the strikers rounded the keeper and hit the post with his shot. Will NZ be as lucky in the home leg?

Just showed the Kiwi's qualifying here.
Well done NZ.
This weekend seems quite exciting football wise considering we are not playing.
I'm looking forward to the England/Brasil match and hope the Irish do the French.
