Hi,
I’m part of a team researching a book on Manchester City and I wondered whether anyone on this forum would like to contribute a chapter. Is this the right place to post details of the book?

Posters John68, Kippax and maybe Douglas Higginbottom are the ones you might be looking for.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Hi, I'm Ron a newbie to ManCityFans. I downloaded the app about two weeks ago and have read hundreds of posts on various threads. Some have made me laugh and some have made me a bit emotional. The Official City v QPR thread is priceless. A perfect example of the hopes, expectations, despair, anger and overwhelming joy that the game of football can bring to every supporter of a football club. I am going to post my thoughts on that awesome day to the thread later. As my username suggests I was born in 1954 so can remember the last time we were the best. I was brought up by my grand parents. My Grandad was Blue. My Dad was Red. Wow! The arguments they had were scary! Both are gone now. Grandad died in Feb 1969 so missed Youngy sticking it the top corner to win the cup. I wish he could have been sat next to me when Martin Tyler said "Aguerooooooooooooooo"! Wow I'm welling up writing this. My sister is Red (corrupted by Dad). I have an amusing/sad story of their football rivalry that I will post when I find a thread about split family loyalty. Grandad was too poorly to take me to games so a cousin used to take me. The problem was that my cousin would only take me to the midweek games, Saturday games were out because he would go to Manchester town centre after the game for a drink. After the midweek games he would drop me back home and go to the local for a drink. Without Grandad and my cousin guiding me when I was vulnerable I could have been Red. Thanks Grandad and thanks cousin Ken. Sorry if I'm waffling on but this is great for me sharing it with people who have gone through their own journey and arrived at the same place as me.

Good introduction, FoSho, some nice memories.
Good idea to have a May 13th feelings thread, I bet there's a lot of good stories to be heard

Hi Patrick, Thanks for your comments. I've never used a forum before but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. The ******Official City v QPR match thread******* should be accessible on the MCFC website for all City fans to post their match day thoughts. It should then be made available to view for all future City fans, when we have gone for a kick-about with Youngy and Doyley, as a historical record of what that epic day was like for the City fans of that time. cheers.

I think the match day thread should be locked and held for posterity just as it is - and before it gets diluted with chit chat or before it gets two twats having a row in it!

Hi All my name is Stu – Blue Stu has a nice ring to it, I was born a BLUE in Crumbsall Hospital 11th May 1961. Family emigrated to OZ in 1962 and then back to Manchester in 1966. My Dad use to take my older brother and I to as many City games as he could afford mostly at Maine Rd in the Kippax Street. Those were the days hey the late 60's and early 70's. On the terraces in the Kippax as a 6 year old, freezing winters and will always remember the cup of Bovril at half time to try and warm me up. Dad took my brother and I to the League Cup Final in 1970, brother was lucky enough to be taken to the FA Cup Final in '68 while I watched it on the TV. The brother was also lucky enough to go to Newcastle for the 4-3 win on the 11th May 1968 to see City win the title. You would of thought my Dad could of taken me too, after all it was my birthday :0( Family emigrated in 1971 again to OZ and we have followed City the best way we could BBC world service at first then MOTD coverage then of course the internet. Travelled back to England in 1987-88 only to see City relegated to the old Div 2 and was at the last game of the season at Upton Park which we lost 2-0. Always remember how well the City fans took it, singing to the West Ham supporters after the final whistle "We're going down you're not, you're not" haha. Remember travelling to Leicester with my brother in law a mad Leicester City fan and experiencing a beating 4-0 at the hands of the mighty foxes. Fast forward to May 2003 and I return for the last game at Maine Road with my 9yr old son. Travelled to Anfield to see City beat Liverpool 2-1. We left on a high, looking forward to City v Southampton, the last game at Maine Road. Surely City can finish on a winning note at Maine Road! Unfortunately it was typical City and we lost 1 nil and on my birthday as well the 11th May :0( The highlight of the trip was watching my 9yr old son pull on a City shirt for their Under 10’s and play against Liverpool at the Kirkby Academy. April-May 2005 and we return again games included a 2-0 win over Portsmouth at COMS, 2-1 win over Villa at Villa Park and a draw against Boro the last game of the season. April 2010 and we return again to see 5-1 defeat of Birmingham, the 1 nil loss to Manure – Scholes in injury time – another typical City, the dour 0-0 at the Emirates against Arsenal when Given was injured and 8 minutes of injury time was played…….So there you have some of my City story, wanted to return in 2011 for the FA Cup final but did not due to work commitments – my brother managed it – the lucky so and so. Finally what a unbelievable final day this season was, finally a Happy B’day the Blues delivered me and I am hoping that there will be many more to come. CTID.
Stu from Adelaide – OZ…

Couple of things Stu...
Please try and find out what the return key does and please stay away from the Etihad, but send your brother - you sound like a Jonah to me!

Good man. Get all your friends to support City.
Why all the City tops over there will be well dodgy so it won't add to the clubs coffers lol.
Stuff the club's coffers, we've gotta get numbers!
