What Does Yaya Toure Actually Do?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Whatever happened at Sunderland, I've watched Yaya closely all season & he sometimes tracks back & sometimes doesn't. My main problem with him is that sometimes he 'half' tracks back. David Platt, coincidentally, used to do the same; appear as if he was about to track a runner, then just let him go, thus nobody else picks him up. Yaya has done plenty of that at City & also is usually 2 yards quicker going forward than he is going back. Last night, he seemed quicker to get into position. Whether that's down to a word from Bob or because it's Liverpool or because of the importance of winning after losing, I don't know, but he played like a champion.

Awesome performance.

Nah, Suarez showed the middle finger, completely different. And this was presumably when we were two up as well, wasn't it? I bet Yaya doesn't even realise the meaning of that, as it's an entirely British thing.

Yaya could had even ate a chocolate bar in front of their fans and he would had been suspended. Bacon would not let this slip away.

Beside the biased decisions we will have next monday, the suspension of Yaya will be just a small thing.

An obvious photoshop, look at the length of his index finger compared to his middle finger.

Jeez, they're getting desperate.

That could just mean 2 up or "V" as in victory.

Is he not banned anyway for the derby for his 5 yellows?

He was fairly pap yesterday....looked well of the pace in parts.

Hopefully that is his "rusty" performance out of the way and he'll be back on all cylinders Monday and thereafter

I think a letter from a half decent lawyer will end this.

It's really down to the role he is asked to play.He is miles better in the support attacking role than a central midfield but more defensive role.Against Norwich he came on he went straight into the attacker role at a time we needed to score the decisive goal and he helped us tear tham apart.

Then ( maybe because Mancini feels he has to pick him) he was kept in the team but in a more holding role and did ok but as soon as he was released when Nigel came on the game just swung massively back in City's favour,we scored the 2nd and the job was done.

No surprise he was quiet yesterday or that he looked better when pushed further up as part of a three.

He just isn't effective when part of a two man midfield, with defensive responsibilities. He has always shown his best form when played at the tip of a three man midfield and with the freedom to get forward and support the front man.

Surprised Bobby perseveres with him in that role. He's ineffective when utilised there.

I think Nige will come in to the side for Nasri/Silva against united and I expect Yaya to play in a more attacking role and put in a big performance.
