Told me he does. I hope he wasnt lying. All those Broken Britian rants would look rather silly if he wasnt paying his way. He'd be to Broken Britian on mancityfans.net what Sean Connery is to Scottish Independance if he wasnt.

This must be the longest thread in mcf.net history that hasn't descended into factionalism and/or all-out war.
It's only 10:30. I'll sit and wait.

For me the points are:

1/ this is much ado about nothing - and that is not demeaning the issue of cancer before anyone starts I have had people very very close to me suffer/die. The email was a jocular snipe between 2 colleagues - not some pre-meditated piss-take about a very serious illness - but the press have an agenda and that angle is all that is portrayed.

2/ And - shit happens - Cook is not alone in such matters - in all walks of life people do a lot worse and do not have to fall on the sword - and in this particular walk of life - well Martin Edwards did/does far far worse

But (IMO) all this pales into insignificence against one simple fact:

The CITY surge is very very dependent on business / revenue growth and the relationship with the MCC - COOK is absolutely essential to that and a disruption would be a major set back. If we do not make certain growth targets in a very short timescale we will fall short. To do that you need dynamic leadership - the sort that comes from someone like Cook.

All this bollocks about gaffes is simply that and very shallow thinking (again IMO) - he should be judged on business development more than PR.

So simply put - he is vital to the emergence of the CITY project and overturning decades of living in the shadow of the cunts that the media suck up to. So yes for me he can get away with a lot - there are limits but having a clumsy action exposed in a callous and deeply cynical manner for selfish purposes is nowhere near those limits.

I would go so far as to say that Ned's mother is guilty of being more disrespectful of the cancer issue through her callous disclosure now - she is using and abusing the topic for personal gain and therefore forfeits (IMO) any position - with regard to her action this week she deserves contempt not sympathy. (of course my view would have been reversed had she gone public 11 months ago)

Circle the wagons boys and do not fall for the media agenda

Yeah, by the middle of next week when Cooke gets back this will have blown over.

It's already been replaced in the papers today by Owen Hargreaves signing!

I agree with you.

Just a couple of questions in among the hysteria...

1. Is Nedum the only city supporter on the books
2. Is Nedum's mum a medical doctor?

This ^^ is what all City fans need to do.

1. The errant email isn't offensive anyway, it is just straight bat truthful comment; a tad sarky. BASICALLY NO STORY THERE AT ALL.
2. The release of it is political, cynical and conspiring.
3. The press once again have to TELL US this is sooooo terribly BAD to make a 'news' story in order to push their agenda ( to try anything to fuck City )

Same old same old, lots of smoke to cover the fact there is no fire. City fans need to wise up and learn fast because if we can't see through the smoke and get lost arguing with each other then the press has won.

EVEN IF YOU FUCKING HATE COOK TO YOUR BONES - THIS IS THE TIME TO MAN UP PUT IT ASIDE AND GET BEHIND THE CLUB AND SHOW THESE MANIPULATORS AND PRESS WANKERS THEY WILL NOT PUSH OUR CLUB AROUND AND WILL NOT DEFLECT US FROM OUR GOAL.

we should back Cook publically - get a song together for the Wigan game...

If one thing comes out of all of this I hope it's that the club refuses to have anything to do with any player represented by that slimey odious little shit Joorabchian. Even if it means sacrificing Nige. Sorry Nige I love you, but you need to ask yourself some serious questions about the people around you.

After seeing Nige on the dressing room cam after we won the FA Cup he didn't seem like the sharpest tool in the box so it really doesn't surprise me that he's chosen Kia as his rep.

Mase, sorry to piss on your statement, De Jong is a successful entrepreneur in his own right, a true self-made man. He has a highly successful car dealership with an Iranian business partner, adding a little extra 'bling' to the most sought after marques.
In Hamburg, he bought a tennis complex and converted it into a giant showroom full of jazzed-up Ferraris, Mercedes and Aston Martins and counts his good friend Robin van Persie and a smattering of Real Madrid stars as his clients.

Also 3 A levels or the dutch Equiv.

Brilliant, thanks for that info. Sorry to piss on your statement but David Beckham has made millions outside the world of football. As has Katie fuckin Price writing books.

So you reckon Nige is a bit thick based on seeing him dancing around enjoying himself after an FA Cup Final victory??

Did you mention piss?

He's one of the mote astute and intelligent footballers. He's just showed extremely poor judgement by getting in tow with a scumbag.

Sorry, I didn't realise I had to praise all of our players. Ballooning about the changing rooms celebrating is good and was brilliant to see. As with Joe Hart, Micah and Mario giving their interviews they just don't seem like a bright bunch of lads. I would have been doing the same thing though I'm sure. Kompany on the other hand seems like quite an intelligent guy. I've not seen anything from Nige to make me think he is, and especially after hearing he has Kia as his advisor now I would be inclined to think he's not.

Don't get me wrong, I love de Jong. He's a top guy.
