Great post.

WW - you speak for us all (well vast majority) I am sure

Mind you WW - be careful not to point things out too clearly - you will be advised to go elsewhere

I would say though - and I absolutely do not mean this in a patronising manner - just cannot think of a better way to say it:

I have been increasingly taken by SLIM of late (some topics apart) - he seems to have found positive and humour modules - I think he gets in some great tongue in cheek stuff which I was previously taking too seriously - and I just know that this will invite some rapier like reply - I am genuinely not being patronising

Well there's first for everything.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

They are right now showing slow motion the build up to first goal in slow motion. The way De Jong simply avoids doing his job is just amazing.

To think we have never-say-die player like Zabaleta on the bench makes me cry.

Srsly? He was our second best outfield player.

As you said to me last week, 'not one to over-react are we?'.

Of course it was an over reaction to call him cunt. That was written moments after the final whistle. But like I said earlier today, I still think he was absolutely poo in second half.

We changed from a five man midfield to a four four two, after that the midfield was the RAG's own personal property.

I must admit that De Jong hasn't greatly impressed me this season but in the first-half of the derby he was the best player on the pitch IMO. He was immense. In the second-half, United changed tactics and they overran us all over the park.

That wasn't the fault of any City player, or the management, it was simply that they have been together much longer. They are so much more fluid and can react to different threats effectively. That's one of the advantages fo a settled team. Hopefully we will start reaping those rewards in the near future. They also have a stronger mentality than we do. After all, tehy have played together in big matches, tight games and high-pressure matches. Regardless of what we think of them they can cope with pretty much everything that is thrown at them from better teams than us. They are one of the best teams in Europe for a reason. However, one day, we will be there and we will knock them off their perch.

I'd take that explanation IF we had "struggled a bit" but they had 78% posession to our 22% in second half. Even likes of Stoke don't rack up that sort of percentage in old scumford.

Let's face it, they took our midfield on the ride like Bobby Charlton does to some schoolboys and the man who was supposed to keep our midfield together, Nigel De Jong, couldn't do his shit.

The change was made because we were not holding onto the ball at all and the hope was 2 up front would work better and give us an out ball .It didn't work very well either but even though they had all the ball for that second half spell it was down our right wing that all the danger was coming and not through the middle.

Agree, De Jong was a disgrace in the second half.

After that goal though, I actually thought De Jong was brilliant. Made so many solid tackles to break up there play, and was really good in possession also. A big reason why we were so good in the first half after their goal. The fact U***d went wide and put so many balls into the box in the second half, shows De Jong was doing well stopping them coming through the middle.

This is about right imo. Didn't play well in the 2nd half along with all the rest but sure as hell not a disgrace.

So NQDP and Edge agree that De Jong was shit.

Well that's that then!

According to TDP here in the first half we had 56% possession I think that was mainly down to NDJ running things.Having 56% at their house is quite an achievement in my book. The cunts were struggling
Yesterday I think superman did ok better than he has been doing of late by keeping it simple and he defended ok.
Whatever Hugues said to them at half time didnt work though cos the cunts seemed to have us sussed.
Dont think it was NDJ fault so much the fuckers just seemed to play on the other side from him exposing Micah more

Has anyone stopped to think that one of the all time greatest domestic managers, saw that his team were stifled and decided to change his system to move to ball to the opposite side of where De jong was playing. They played him out of the game and it worked.

NQDP watched the game again, can you advise if this was true?

You mean that Ferguson outwitted Hughes and De Jong was just pawn in this bigger game of chess? I'd say De Jong simply wasn't pulling his weight but which one do you think it is?
