MALCOLM ALLISON - REST IN PEACE

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Although before my time, we all know the history that was made by Joe and Mal. Hopefully there is a Great Big Maine Road up there in the sky where they'll all meet up again, chat about the old times and get the odd game going.

Also, it would be good to see the club move quickly and establish a monument to the Legends of yester-year with a thoughtful and rightful tribute to Joe and Mal in the form of statues on Joe Mercer way.

RiP Mal and our thoughts go out to your family.

We didn't know so much about him here in Italy except for his good friendship with Nereo Rocco. Rocco was a legend for AC Milan and Toro, the same as Malcom was for our beloved City. "Come on dear boy, have a cigar!" I'm sure somebody will give him to smoke immediately when Malcolm will knock on heaven's door ... RIP Forever!
From Torino, Italia to Manchester, Lancashire this City is always our City!

Almost every night, when we were kids/teenagers, we used to play football on the pink car park behind the Platt Lane End, then when it got dark we'd move to the car park in front of the main stand. Big Mal would normally leave about 9 in the evening (presumably when the night clubs opened!!!) but even when things weren't going well he always had time to have a bit of a joke with us scruffy street urchins.

Malcolm - it was a privilege - RIP mate. You were a bright light even in dark times.

If anyone's not seen it, an interview from 1992: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/9097130.stm?. Interesting listening to him talking about training - the things he's saying see normal now, yet back then, at the very start of the premier league, four years before Wenger arrived at Arsenal, they would have seemed 'foreign'. Ahead of his time, as ever.

RIP Big Mal.

I'm sure he was offered a job at Juventus in around 68/69/70 ish but turned it down. I think i read it in the "Football with a smile" book, but he turned the old lady down. Went over for a visit and all sorts

Before my time but his impact will forever live on.

RIP Big Mal.

Ignoring what them lot down the road have done, but I do hope we have some kind of statuettes of Mercer, Mal, Bell, Lee and Summerbee knocking about the ground some day.

RIP big fella. A real football genius. A pity the game didn't make the best use of his brain.

Will never forget the noise from The Kippax in 1981 when you returned with Palace in the FA Cup 3rd round, a true legend, you will be sorely missed. Forever in my memories big fella. RIP
