Who would you have on MOTD

Postby sandman » Tue Sep 21, 2010 5:27 pm

Following on from the Stan Collymore Thread

Who would you want to host MOTD?

I would rotate it with the following;

Terry Venables - Host

Regulars
Kevin Keegan
Graeme Souness

Guest Managers
Stuart Pearce - Should be watching most games anyway
Fabio Capello - Should be watching most games anyway
Fat Sam - To Cover England Games
Twitchy Redknapp - To Cover England Games

Guest Players/Ex Managers
Lee Dixon
Ray Wilkins
Ron Atkinson
Roy Keane

I'd want Martin O'Neil as a regular pundit. Probably the best pundit I've witnessed in a long time and would argue his own opinion.

Good Choice, I left out Moyes purposely due to his lack of movement around the Premier League.

Oh no! Absolutely up his own arse. I always liked the tactical side of things from old Don Howe. Wilkins can be knowledgable but puts it across in the most boring way possible.

As I put in the other thread, Gullit. I also like Souness for some reason as he likes to stand and fight his corner.

Players, I do like Dixon although he is just a little too non-plus sometimes, and would like to see a point of view from a decent/recent attacking midfielder/striker, possibly in the mould of Dennis Bergkamp.

As a rule of thumb I would say that former football managers are a lot better pundits than those who have only played.
Folk like Venabals Bobby Robson as was and even Pleat though he's a prat can tell you why the boy done good rather than just stating the bleeding obvious that the boy done good which is what most of the players do.
Irritates the hell out of me the way they seem to analyse the none lead matches now and don't seem to have seen most of the match but only watched the highlights themselves. Going to a game and watching the discussion on MOTD they often seem to be talking about a completely different game.

I would like Neil Warnock, Ian Wright & Ian Holloway as pundits and Frank Skinner presenting it with Georgie Thompson as the eye candy.
