Big Phil C

Rumours are starting to the effect that we're close to a deal for Caicedo, perhaps on loan.

Any news your end on this please?

Thanks in advance.

I quite like him. He may not ever be the standard of player we need at the moment but if he starts every game for West Ham I’d expect him to bang a few in. When he was given a run in the side his scoring record us was not bad at all.

His style of play maybe better suite to Spain.

I had a feeling he might be quite productive if given a chance this year. But it seems Jo has been given a chance instead.

Phil doesn't have a great first touch , isn't very good in the air , isn't very quick but he is very strong and given a half decent service he might score close to 1 in 3 or so.

one of the strongest forwards i have seen. will miss more than he scores but works hard and can be pretty effective at times. be a good move for all parties imo, i like the lad and would like to see him do well.

He's big, he's strong, he's not a target man.

He has bags of potential and I think you'd be better off with him on loan than RSC. I think he has a good attitude and doesn't really cause trouble, but he's a confidence player. Use him correctly, he might be quite handy; otherwise, you could wonder if he's able to play the game.

He's able to play on the wing (surprisingly, perhaps). He has an awkward 1st touch so is deceptively skilful.

Hope he only goes on loan. Like this kid. Seems very little trouble off the pitch, good attitude, hard worker, decent shot, massive physic, scratch that he's a monster, good pace once going and an eye for a pass. I think the boy has a great future. Be great to see him week in week out in a premiership team. Be ideal imo for Blackpool.

Your right about that actually.

He came to a foreign country at 19 and presumably couldn’t speak a word of language on a big deal that no-one including his agent could ever have dreamt off. Would have been easy for him to claim he hated the place like so many others and piss off back to a climate that suits him on loan whilst picking up the big bucks. Never heard a bad word about him nor have I heard him demanding a place in the side.

The sort of player you would wish well no matter if he goes out on loan or signs permanently for a Premiership side. Still only 22 and plenty of room for improvement. Would be a decent punt for any bottom half premiership side.

It seems that if he speaks to journalists ever, they don't have much interest in what he says. I can't really remember him talking about anything.

He did an interesting piece on growing turnips in the Guardian.

Certainly a better bet than Ilan, Mido, Franco or McCarthy.

Spot on that is, first touch of the rapist but allied with actually really rather nimble feet and good close control when he has the ball

that goal shows everything good that he can do, strong physically but can look magic with the ball appearing to be stuck under his feet

An enigma wrapped in a conundrum is Big Phil

Seriously though, to echo others' views, I think he is one of those players who could really blossom with age (a la Drogba), he really does seem to be a confidence player and there were periods when he got a run out under Hughes when you could sense that he was on the cusp of coming good. Pissing around playing Chedwyn and, when fit, Cuntidge did Felipo no favours in terms of rhythm.

If I were Avram I'd have him in a flash. Added bonus is the fact that if used from the bench, from what we have seen, he will give you no headache in the dressing room

First touch of a rapist. Will never be top striker because of that.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Agreed....but.....(and no disrespect to West Ham Walmai) at the moment, are West Ham capable of being in the market for a top striker?

No, they are not. I think Caicedo on loan would be alright addition for them. As long as they don't think he'll get to double figures and leads their line on his own.

Yeah I'd agree with that. He'd probably score a fair few more than Roque would (even a fit RSC) for them though

Interesting to see the defender he beats there.

Kind of sad to watch anything from that night back though.
