Yeah in theory but people have earmarked him as someone who is going to be the next gerrard/lampard - 30 million for someone who is dead on track for that I would have no qualms over paying - Ozil for example...
I don't see that capability in him personally but both Terry Venables & Peter Taylor were lavishing praise on him on tv a few weeks ago, said they expect him to reach that level & be one of the absolute top players. Both are supposed to know their stuff when it comes to young players.
Crikey Ted...........young players? I seem to remember that Milner made his debut EIGHT years ago in the Premier League for Leeds didn't he mate?
I just checked and he's played nearly 250 Prem League games over 8 years. Not exactly a wet behind the ears rookie is he;o)
You dont judge the age of a player on appearences!
I think it's on how many years they have been alive, not 100% sure, hopefully someone can back me up on this...
Stick to watching DVD's and eating Pizza's (Kebab's on a late night) and you'll do well ;-)

The fact that he's made 200 odd appearences & he's only 24 is a plus rather than a minus in my book. Also, he's been rapidly improving at a time when a lot of players, especially english ones, often go downhill.
Having said that, I don't actually give a flying fuck whether we sign him or not. I think he'll do well for us if we do get him but there'll be other players who'll also do well so I'm not arsed either way.

He does look quality for the most part but he started lo come off the rails a bit later in todays game.
I don't know much about him apart from these games though & I never believe in signing players just from performances in World Cups etc. I should imagine we have scouts who know plenty about him though as he's well enough known in Portugal.
Seems to have been loaned out a fair bit.

Fair comment mate. Apologies if I came across wrong. I think the lad's a reasonable player and more importantly, he knows the climate, the league and what's required. Similar to the Carrick's (wash my mouth out with carbolic soap) of this world that play an integral part for their team .

Depends I suppose on whether this last season was a true reflection on how he'll be from now on or whether it was a one off. I recon he was probably one of the top performers in the PL away from home last season & that's something that would certainly benefit us.

apparently we're back in for the Serbian LB from Lazio:
Madrid has withdrawn from the bidding for Kolarov and Lazio left-back in all probability will be leaving for England. According to the Daily Mail, Manchester City has returned to make another bid for the Serbian international, and this time has offered 18 million euros, an amount that is beginning to be well received by Claudio Lotito, president of the Roman institution, although always officially has requested 25 million.
City's offer exceeds the maximum four million was willing to pay the Madrid and that is the reason that the institution has waived the Concha Espina signing. This is a setback for Mourinho because Kolarov was his main request to strengthen the left side, so finding a player for the job is currently suspended. The Portuguese coach has a good assessment of alternative Marcelo (hence rejected Coentrao, a player whom he considers similar to Brazil) and Madrid will consider only one sign left-back if the market offers an interesting name and a price below that more affordable to be a defense.

I have no doubt that we have kept Lazio from going bankrupt many times over the past 10 years.

Today's main Spanish bollox:
Kolarov will go to City
Touré and his agent have already met City in Barcelona.
And Silva's transfer is being held up by the form of payment. Valencia want it all right now, Cooky says NOOOOOOOO! And the value of RSC, likely to be, wait for it...............................................€2M net!

I'm sure Chelsea won't mind paying the money upfront. We need to stop dickin about with these transfers and just get them sorted! Whether we pay it all now, in 5 years or in 100 years it's still going to be paid and unless Dunne was right we'd have no problems paying in full now anyway.
The bit about RSC doesn't surprise me at all. I think even Rovers paid more than that for him!

Yes.
Think, a harder Ashley Cole just a bit slower. Much better than Bridgey though imo.

Found this extract from wiki which i think sums kolarov up nicely.
Kolarov is a left-back, who has an extremely strong attacking side to his game. He is adept at shooting from distance and on long range set pieces. Kolarov is also extremely quick and is known for his runs bombing up and down the left flank for Serbia and Lazio, adept at delivering an excellent variety of crosses or cutting inside to shoot.
Kolarov has been nicknamed the Serbian Roberto Carlos due to his long-range strikes and similar free-kick abilities to the Brazilian footballer, as seen in the decisive goal scored in the 2007 Under 21 semi-final match against Belgium.

If he's as good as Roberto Carlos at taking free kicks, everyone behind the goal, especially those sat near the corner flag, need to wear helmets.
