Manchester City winger Vladimir Weiss would be flattered by reported interest from Newcastle, according to his agent Juraj Venglos.

The St James' Park have been linked with move for the 20-year-old Slovakia international, who has helped his side reach the last 16 of the World Cup in South Africa.

In January, Weiss joined Bolton on loan, making 13 appearances and contributed to Owen Coyle's side avoiding relegation from the top flight.

Venglos told TASR: "Vladimir would surely be flattered by the chance to play regularly at a club as big as Newcastle United.

"I know of Newcastle's interest only from the media. In any case, Vladmimir naturally wants to play at a good club, but he will have to make a decision himself.

"Whether there is any truth in it or not, one thing is for sure - any possible negotiations will begin only after the World Cup."

Weiss moved to Manchester City in 2006 and proved to be an instant hit at Eastlands, winning the FA Youth Cup in 2007.

The youngster had to wait until 2009 before scoring his first senior goal against Arsenal in the Carling Cup.

In the same year, the promising Slovakian signed a new contract at City, keeping him at the club until 2012.

Amazing how selective memories are with the 2 words 'Summerbee' and 'Mike'. He had a love/hate banter relationship with the fans. When he was on song he was great, the rest of the time he was lazy, hungover and crap, and the fans told him. I hope Silva will be more consistent!

Think we'll need fullbacks who can get forward even more if we change away from 4-4-2 personally. Brazil's system, if we copy it or do something similar, absolutely depends on it.

It's a catch 22 situation imo regarding 'holding' midfielders (which Toure isn't strictly, he just does it if asked & is actually very good indeed going forward), if you don't have them, the forwards have to defend more, if you have several, the forwards have to be more effective on their own in the attacking 3rd. Getting the balance right isn't easy. I have a feeling Mancini will use Silva (if he signs) as the 'playmaker' & possibly Toure as his 'minder', so not quite a holding player but one who is still ready to get back at the 1st sign of danger.

If Ireland got his shit together, he could be fantastic playing next to someone like Toure, linking up with Silva in attack then doing his Superman bit & sprinting back to recover the ball, an allround excellent midfielder rather than an average playmaker. That's the job he'll end up doing if he leaves City, so why the fuck he can't just get on with it for us, I don't know. He'll never be Ronaldinho but he could be world class as the bloke who plays next to him.

i like Lahm too and i have fuckall idea who our starting LB Is. Can someone tell me please? Cuz i don't think it's Wayne Bridge if we think we want to win the Premiership.

also, where is our creative midfield starter? i'd like one please.

Also, Yaya Toure seems more like Patrick in his halcyon days at Arsenal than he does like a hardcore defensive midfielder, no?

The following google translate gibberish is taken from As.com.Quotes from his father claiming a deal has been agreed with Silva and the clubs just need to finalise the deal.

In the absence of Valencia and Manchester City make it official the transfer of David Jimenez Silva , the father of canary player , speaking on the SER Chain Rail to justify the decision of his son. "Valencia , this year , he said transferable and clearly needs the money. So we heard this offer, which is very good for us, and the decision is made. Now , the only thing the two clubs close the transfer , "said Fernando Jimenez, who delved into the obvious economic needs of the club che: "They told us we could talk to clubs and the best example is the City, which is what has made you more interested to take David. "

Silva 's father was honest with the shift in the negotiations: "I know that, as in Valencia is not anywhere, but there are compelling reasons to rule. " He also had words for his son's situation in South Africa: "To me, he must play and ten more . has been a key so far. "
