SSN breaking news - Dzeko thought to be in talks with Man City - looks like we heard about the clause in his contract.

Mclaren was giving a live interview on SSN yesterday and let slip that theres a clause in Dzeko's contract allowing him to move for a fixed fee - he said the clause expires on Monday. I made a post about it earlier in this thread but didnt explain things properly - people are trying to say McLaren is drumming up interest in Dzeko by deliberately mentioning the clause BUT I am makign the point it's in Wolfsburg's interest to wait for the clause to lapse so they can get a bigger transfer fee for him.

Mmmmm, where could they have heard that, or was it that Stevie mentioned it to get a bidding war going on?

Considering the clause is for a fixed fee, and considering the clause expires on Monday (meaning they would get more money for him if they waited) I would consider it a pretty dumb move personally, as I mentioned before.

But that's just it mate, there may be a clause but if no-one else comes in for him, they will sell at a lower price anyway regardless of the clause. Clauses are there if you want to keep him, not when you are trying to pimp him out like McLaren's done.

If they wanted to hold out, why would they let us talk to him now as reported?
