Will it die though, I suspect I will be bumping this one for a while.

Spite for the win.

Like I said, whether it's sinker or floater will be decided by posters. Content will be same regardless though. Just like with any sinker or floater.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

just couldn't resist this moving lament- for all you devotees of the special one - and there a quite a few of those saddos on here

The Lost Leader Robert Browning

Just for a handful of silver he left us,
Just for a riband to stick in his coat—
Found the one gift of which fortune bereft us,
Lost all the others she lets us devote;
They, with the gold to give, doled him out silver,
So much was theirs who so little allowed:
How all our copper had gone for his service!
Rags—were they purple, his heart had been proud!
We that had loved him so, followed him, honoured him,
Lived in his mild and magnificent eye,
Learned his great language, caught his clear accents,
Made him our pattern to live and to die!
Shakespeare was of us, Milton was for us,
Burns, Shelley, were with us,—they watch from their graves!
He alone breaks from the van and the freemen,
He alone sinks to the rear and the slaves!

We shall march prospering,—not through his presence;
Songs may inspirit us,—not from his lyre;
Deeds will be done,—while he boasts his quiescence,
Still bidding crouch whom the rest bade aspire:
Blot out his name, then, record one lost soul more,
One task more declined, one more footpath untrod,
One more triumph for devils and sorrow for angels,
One wrong more to man, one more insult to God!
Life’s night begins: let him never come back to us!
There would be doubt, hesitation and pain,
Forced praise on our part—the glimmer of twilight,
Never glad confident morning again!
Best fight on well, for we taught him—strike gallantly,
Menace our heart ere we pierce through his own;
Then let him receive the new knowledge and wait us,
Pardoned in heaven, the first by the throne!

A "saddo", hey? Takes one to know one. If people are doubting your anti-sad credentials then perhaps they could do a search of your posts which include waxing lyrical about The Italian Stallion and putting up YouTube videos. I had hoped we'd seen the last of this style once the thread was unstickied. Thanks for digging it back up.

The poll which accompanied this thread presently shows that 50% of those who voted are solidly backing this man to bring the Premiership Title to Eastlands. 50% aren't. Could you come back and be smug once we actually see some silverware?

How can we truly judge the capabilities of a Manager who has largely inherited his Team and not had a Summer to prepare for a Premiership campaign? We can't.

You're the saddo.

I've been told to be kind to you but it's getting harder.
Just for the record I am as sceptical about Mancini as any reasonable person.
I also rate Mourinho as the best coach around but so does everybody else. What I object to is the pillocks who wanted Mancini out before he had a chance to show us what he can do.

The first line is just flaming / wumming and it won't work. Go be kind to someone else half your age. Anatagonism will get you nowhere.

You really are confused aren't you? One minute you were aggressively tearing apart every question people made against our Manager and now you're as sceptical as the rest?! Ha ha!!!! Like every person on here has EXACTLY the same opinion. Ha ha!!!! Contradicting yourself continually. LOL!

Who wanted Mancini out before he had a chance to show us what he could do? Before he took us out of both Cups? Watched us fall to another late Goal from you know who? Miss out on 4th when it was in our own hands? All failures.

Have 6 months gone yet? Time for the further 3 years to kick in.

He doesn't know how to?

Mods - why is personal abuse being tolerated? I've made my points, backed them up with evidence and I'm being called names in exchange. And there was me being told that the quality of debate had improved since Hughes got his cards...

Or is Mr YouTube just a typical Wummer just looking for a reaction?

You're a grisly gang on here to be sure. I fear the logic of Jim's "points" eludes me and his appeals to the mods for intolerance to Captain Mainwaring are frankly staggering. The censure from OD for my failing to dignify this puerile nonsense with a reply I'll just have to take on the chin and flutter off into the night.

I assure you i've spent enough time on Forums to know a troll / WUM when I see one. i.e. Taking on people for daring to disagree with their opinion on one subject (their only opinion in general) and then pretending they don't understand anyone elses points. I had far better back and forths with the Anti Hughes brigade. At least they had structure and intelligence to what they said. You just call me names.

I won't be wasting my time with you anymore and HOPEFULLY you'll stick by your promise and flutter off into the night. Flutter off, Old Man.

Dont be so precious JC, newbies coming on and ripping into regulars unconstructivly for wanting Mancini to be given the boot doesnt get you over very well. My advice for new members is generally to slide into the background, leave controversy alone for 3-5 months, build up your numbers, be visible but not too visable, then 6 months down the line look for your first fight. Go for whoever gets the most stick at that point.

Suddenly, your a regular.

You fell into a great situation. The board was looking for someone to bring Mo/Zorro/Dev/Erwin down a peg or 2. You were the man.
The stars were aligned.

Its a new day though, new rules. We're a pack of wolves. Controversial for the sake of being controversial newbies get frowned upon. Start attacking a regular at 100 posts, thats like putting the cherry on top of the goodbye cake.
