Thoughts On Fulop?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

First half he looked really ring rusty, second half he looked solid.

I'm happy enough going into the spurs game with him in the sticks.

He's no Given or Hart, but he's got enough going for him to warrant his spot atm.

I thought Toure sold him short on their goal, should have done better but far from being entirely his fault.

Thats the way i saw it..Carew was allowed plenty of space for the goal and struck it in the corner.
Why peeps are calling him shite after his debut and a 3-1 win is beyond me.

Hey Carl.. here is a quote, which is an excellent example of you "analizing the match and players": "He is fucking crap and our defense will their work cut out."

Wow.. excellent "analizing".

I think in actuality, you need the "chill pill" We won 3-1, with a very rusty keeper.

Seriously.. get some perspective. Well first, you need to come off the booze and whatever hallucinogenic drugs you're taking. Fulop had been riding the bench at Sunderland for how long? And suddenly he comes to City, and is thrust into an intense match against one of the better Prem sides, with CL implications on the line. YEAH, I'd be a bit shaky in the first half too. However, Fulop was fine in the second, and will be from here on out (which is no relevation for those who have seen him in-form)

A pass mark. He doesn't fill you with confidence but he's not terrible. I think he's better than Gunnar which in the end is the best we can do.

I think he was unlucky in that the first goal went through his legs and was made to look a bit of a chump. However it's just one of those things, can happen to any keeper.

After that he didn't put a foot wrong. Will be fine for our next two games.

I think for a lad to come into a team so late in the season with everythng to play for and a lot to lose, he did well. Ok shaky in the first and maybe Toure could have done better for there goal, second half he looked a little more confident. Hope to fuck he really has a blinder come Wed.

We knew we weren't getting Bert Trautmann, Corrigan or Frank Swift...We knew hw was a 3rd keeper for Sunderland.
We must have been aware of what we were getting...With that in mind, I think he played to the standard we should have expected.

If we hadn't got him...we could have got a lot worse.

3RD choice keeper John..I also knew what we were getting - a below average goal keeper and imo it showed today and Im shitting it for the remaining 2 games we have left....modric and Defoe are more of a threat than amnything Villa have got imo.

But theres fuckall we can do is there...........!!

IMO he has to work on his crossing - he dropped it and half punched it today and it could have cost us big time.......Im nervous about him on these crosses and corners.

good points - he came off his line and got the ball back in play quicker than Given has ever done.

Agree, did as well as expected. Can't be blamed for the goal. I'm sure he will be more settled against Spuds as he gets more used to playing with our defence.

But there won't be any double training on Tuesday, whatever will he do.

Thanks. And to be fair to Carl, perhaps I was a bit too harsh with the ad hominem. The reason I got a bit peeved, was because it's simply unfair to start calling a player "crap", under such circumstances, and most especially upon their debut.

If Fulop flops terribly for the Spurs and Hammers matches, I will be gladly admit my fault.

Long kicking is even worse than Shay but he is a lot quicker to distribute the ball short. Shaky start but did a job

We'll just have to see how it pans out but his handling looked really poor. He just doesn't seem to have keepers hands, the ball doesn't stick. He's rusty and will hopefully be better for the run out today but I'm worried about him.

We should have bribed/bullied/blackmailed Birmangham in to giving us Joe back. I still can't believe that (with all our resources) we weren't able to negotiate his early return.

Arry Redknapp seems to think we fucked up by not having a clause installed in the loan agreement???????????????
I thought the rules stated that you cannot install clauses and after reading numbercruncher mardy bolloks rules response to my original statement on this issue, it still seems ambiguous to me.
