Thoughts On Fulop?

Postby Vhero » Sat May 01, 2010 4:06 pm

Thought I would star this topic to get peoples views.

My opinion is I thought he was VERY shaky in the first half and had me biting my nails and I think he should have easily saved their first goal. However in the second half he looked a lot more settled and I wasn't as nervous.

Improved considerably after the break
I'm now much more confident about him.

We just need our central defenders to be on top of their game on Wednesday

he looked nervous, but seemed to settle later on. He's a journeyman keeper with prem experience and should hopefully be good enough to get us where we want. (I doubt Given would have conceded the goal though)

I'm grateful to him for coming when we needed him.

He was a bit shaky to start with, but i thought he did well overall today between the sticks.

He was okay. I doubt Nielsen would have done any better or worse, but it is what it is, and we move forward with Fulop I guess.

He is a good backup keeper who has plenty of experience and can punch a ball well. That's all I ask for from an emergency loan signing.

He is shite.

So he walks on the pitch for the 1st time and you expect him to be like Given or Hart? Can you tell me what he did wrong and why he was crap?
Equally to blame for the 1st goal was the defense

I think he's got a mistake in him for sure, however I can see him being capable of an outstanding save at some point also. Improved as the game went on for me, and was at least decisive in his punching and leaving his line.

A really important game for city and its his 1st game yes hes going to be nervous, and yes it was his fault for the goal but in all fairness he dint do that bad, hes doing us a favour coming to city so give him a break

He was nervous at first and had nothing to do before their goal. He definitely improved in the second half. He doesn't seem to come for balls across the area but we've put up with that all season so can't see it being an issue.

He was the best/only available option for us really so I'm grateful he's here. Nice to see the crowd had more patience with him than those in the match thread!

Given , Hart or mickey mouse would have saved that first goal of theirs imo....slow reaction form him even if toure was useless at stopping him from getting his shot in.
Crossing - he dropped the ball and if it wasnt for our player being in the right spot at the right time it would have been goal number 2.
Crossing again - he punched the ball to within 3 metres..dodgy as fuck on crosses.

All in all he does not breed confidence when we will be up against the likes of Spurs.

I thought Toure sold him short on their goal, should have done better but far from being entirely his fault.

You bashers are just insane!

Postby Citeh&Crew » Sat May 01, 2010 4:26 pm

If the half of you, who bash without good reason, could play football half as well as you can unreasonably rip players, or the manager, we'd have a team full of legends who would win the Prem and CL every frigging year. (My guess is that many of you couldn't even last 2 minutes on the pitch without the need for an oxygen tank and/or an ambulance, and have the tactical knowledge of a slug)

Seriously.. get some perspective. Well first, you need to come off the booze and whatever hallucinogenic drugs you're taking. Fulop had been riding the bench at Sunderland for how long? And suddenly he comes to City, and is thrust into an intense match against one of the better Prem sides, with CL implications on the line. YEAH, I'd be a bit shaky in the first half too. However, Fulop was fine in the second, and will be from here on out (which is no relevation for those who have seen him in-form)

Yeah I agree with this, the chance would never have been made available if Toure wasn't ball watching.

Take a chill pill you muppet.

we are analizing the match and players - Id like to see how many city fans would be confident having Fulop in nets for the spurs match!
