Nice to have an EX COO from City defending the club. Unlike that turn coat Bernstein.

For me this is coming down to a quite simple statement. Why would the UAE, an entire gulf state nation, implied by its association with Sheik Mansour, Khaldoon, The City Group and Etihad, falsify accounts?

The damage to personal, business, national and global reputations would be beyond repair. Mansoor bought City as a mechanism
To talk business, to chit chat about with other business leaders around the world. Why would he risk his, his royal families and entire nations reputation on cheating?

It’s not like City is the only business interest they have. There are other ways to build profile, create opportunity, invest, gain popularity ffs. Whatever it is, cheating to this extent with the knowledge of one day being caught is not something amthat would be done. The Sheik, Khaldoon, Etihad, etc etc would never be trusted again.

Somethings off. I stand by that this is the only glory the PL will get in the whole saga. They’ve realised that and gone with it anyway, possibly with our permission on the understand we are eventually let off everything.

It’s not over but the amount of hate and absolute defamation going on is eye opening. This is the worst of the modern wrld exposed to see

I see our good friends at SKY have been ringing our sponsors trying to get them to say something negative, just like the disgusting vermin they are.

I have to say, if our owners/board knew for one minute that they are guilty as charged, they would surely not stick their necks out like they have to refute these findings. Surely they must realise this bravado, it that’s what it is, will only make things very much worse for them in the long run.

They must have something to cling on to, something up their sleeve, or have cunningly set out to crucify the PL for their obvious mollycoddling of the red cartel for all these years, and if so they seemingly have ambled into the trap.

These are the thoughts I’m clinging on to in hope with a smattering of judgement as I cannot fathom any other reason for their statements over the last couple of days.

There is a long way to go with the process, and it’s difficult to imagine, even if the charges are thrown out, how we will get over the harm being done by all these slavering media wolves.

We’ll see.

Saw someone online deduce if we’re being compared to Everton, then we can expect a massive but affordable fine and 18 point deduction, as we have 7 breaches to their 2 - they were fined 6 points for the first breach and 2 points for subsequent breache - so following that same method, for 7 breaches we can fairly argue that the points deduction should only total 18 - and if you follow the forest example, they were only docked 4 points for their first offence, which makes it 16 points. It will be interesting to see what rules suddenly apply to us as we’re burning on the stake

I just looked at the link for the MEN article Hants.

The Tory Peer Lord Cruddas questions "if accounts have been falsified and Auditors have been misled" ... Well that reflects on incompetence on behalf of the Auditors surely ? their job is to check accounts for inaccuracies. To check the bank account payments against the various account folders. If Auditors done their job properly any issues would have been raised before publishing accounts, to book costs and income correctly.

We live in interesting times indeed. Rival fans I know are enjoying their bukkake-fest at the moment, swallowing everything ejaculated at them by their media of choice. I have had to put up with their shite since the 1970's, so nothing new there.
My biggest concern is this - will this furore delay the launch of Football Manager 27? It better not, or heads will roll.

The amount of misinformation and straight out lies from every media outlet and commentator online about both this case and the previous CAS/UEFA case is mind boggling. City needs to fire whoever is doing their PR & media relations over the last decade and start with a new strategy.

Today I'm mostly just feeling jaded with modern football. Over the last few decades it's become closer to WWE or the Harlem Globetrotters than a sport - where the winners are preordained and anyone messing that up needs to be punished. And seemingly most fans & pundits don't really give a shit about sporting merit. They are just as happy to be awarded a title from having their rival stripped of theirs over a technicality that should not exist rather than beating them on the pitch.

City had a similar net spend over the last decade as their rivals but were better at football. But now everyone says they were cheating because they should have competed with a built in disadvantage of not being able to spend as much as the other teams. Then you add that City did follow the rules, but now the rules have changed to be whatever a mystery commission decides them to be behind closed doors.

The amount of double speak, bad faith arguments, and hypocrisy is astounding.

100% agree with our shite PR.

Its even more baffling when you consider

1. One reason they bought us was for Abu dhabi PR.

2. UAE culture does not take kindly to false damning accusations

BREAKING: Etihad Airways is considering legal action against the Premier League after it was implicated in its ruling that #ManCity breached its financial rules. The Abu Dhabi-based airline says it ‘categorically rejects’ the findings of the competition’s commission and warns it is now seeking legal advice on next steps.

Etihad spokesperson: “Etihad categorically rejects any finding, conclusion or implication that suggests the airline has ever been involved in improper commercial arrangements. The Premier League’s public communication of the Commission’s findings, following a period of selective leaks and reporting, has further created damaging implications for Etihad despite the airline not being named in the redacted published findings.

“At no time did the Premier League reach out to or engage with Etihad in the process associated with the Commission’s opinion. Etihad was therefore never given opportunity by the Premier League to be represented, provide relevant information, or ensure the accuracy and fairness of information relied upon in reaching conclusions that may now be interpreted as reflecting adversely on the airline.

“Etihad is deeply concerned by the way this matter has been communicated publicly. The lack of clarity and transparency, together with the selective disclosure of information, has created damaging implications for Etihad despite the airline not being named in the published decision. The Premier League must take responsibility for the consequences of the way in which these findings have been presented.

“We stand with the Club, its supporters and our wider Etihad community as #MCFC challenges the Commission’s conclusions through the processes available to it. Etihad will seek the relevant legal counsel on the options and recourse available to protect its interests…” [via Mike Keegan, MailSport]
