Surprised that the new owners didn't kick him out the moment they bought them. He's not a bad manager but obviously has quite a low ceiling with how he organizes his teams.

Pity I actually like the guy, seems decent enough, doesn't come out spewing bollocks too much.

Will alonso be gone by Xmas.
Scousers were thinking he would easily slot in there.

I like what you did there Zuri.
A toss up between Alonso and Carrick who goes first. The circus continues at the swamp. Let's see where they are in October my money is on them wanting Carrick out. A bit different having to play every 3 days rather than 8-10 days

Strangest thing in all that is the timing, as it signals that there has been no encouragement behind the scenes from Liverpool which is remarkable considering their situation. It also signals he's not on City's radar this year.

It appears to be close to a full mutiny now with the press reports / player statements over the weekend, and I wonder if Alonso is wishing he'd waited a few weeks, and Liverpool wishing they'd worded him up to wait til the end of the season.

It's a bizarre appointment from Alonso's perspective

If he fails, and it's highly likely as Chelsea are a total mess, where does that leave him? He was very highly regarded and that would mean he'd have been let go from two jobs. It's a really bizarre move for him.

Maybe the dippers tapped him up and he had a look at their squad and thought no thanks. There’s a lot to do there. Also let’s remember Benitez wanted to replace him with Gareth Barry and he was replaced by Aquilani in the end so maybe he isn’t as much in love with the dippers as their fans would have you believe.

That said I’m a bit surprised he has gone to Chelsea

But they don't sack managers. They always give them time.

I think he’s a good shout for them. Must be well in the running
Big difference though with a small club like Bournemouth and the dippers though. The pressure there could easily suffocate a lot of managers

That's 4 teams from the top 6 that will have new managers. Only Arteta and Emery remain from this season. I'm including Carrick as a new manager as he was only appointed after the end of the league season. Could be a major shake up next season, especially with the fatigue and surprise results that usually happen the season after a World Cup.

Going to be advantage Arteta next season for sure

If we know who our new manager/coach is already it is important we announce ASAP, will help settle the team and keep the nervy fans fom anxiety of no knowing.

the Wolfsburg vs Bayern game just popped up when Tin tin destroyed the Bayern Midfield under Pep.

The game that decided that pep wanted Tin tin in his next team ( i think he already knew that it was over at Bayern)..

He destroyed Alonso in midfield. scored two crackers and a couple of assists. They went after him in the second half , Schweini would have been sent off for his stamp on Tin tin in the PL.

Kevin ,still with the face of a young kid destroyed them.

So,

...Alonso was also picking up tips from pep....

Now next season should be an interesting season.

By the way, Enrique now knows just how hard it is to breakdown an eleven man block.
Whilst a penalty. Arse had them under control with their block.

If Enrique comes to England his teams will be met with the same dogmatic approach as Pep had
to endure.

The eleven man block is not going away just because Pep has moved on. All teams now play with the same "play out from the back" way.
"Well I'll go to the foot of our stairs."
